Dixie, I would say people are more comfortable dating marrying someone with similar
backgrounds, socio economic background (maybe culture), religion can be tossed in there also. Race would probably be further down the list, just my opinion. Caveat would be for certain age brackets.

Not true. Humans by nature tend to seek out features and similarities in mates. Most studies suggest that is not changing, nor would any valid study suggest otherwise.

We are animals. That's just how it is. I know liberals dream of a world where every person has a child with someone from another race until we are all singing and holding a coke in our hands, but it is not reality.

human psychology says otherwise. The majority will always seek mates in their own racial group.

It is changing and, if not for certain laws placed on the books and certain sentiments placed throughout our history, we would've already been there.

I agree more people do prefer to date and marry their own race; I did. (I'd like to ask Bull_In_Exile if he was the same at first) But all of that doesn't mean that they can't be won over by the right person more than we've ever known. I'm a testament to that.

Yes, there are more interracial relations, but you are burying your head in the sand if you think that is a significant reason for the crashing white birthrates. Frankly, I don't care what race you are. Society is better off if you get married and have children. The black community has a problem with the getting married part of it and single parenthood (baby daddy syndrome) while the white community has a birthrate crisis. Both are a drag on society. The Mexicans are actually doing it correctly, we just need to stop the flow and give them a chance to assimilate before we lose our culture completely.

Is that nature or nurture? Throughout history, when people traveled from one place to another a lot married outside of the race and it continued until some power discouraged the practice. It happened in America until the King discouraged the practice and certain colonies levied fines.

Look at the makeup of Latin America. The Catholic Church didn't oppose interracial marriage as long as there was a conversion.
