Sorry for digging this thread up again, probably a lost cause but has anyone seen any remaining NIU tents at Chicagoland Costco?

The Naperville Costco did not have anymore of the canopies nor the chairs as of 2-3 weeks ago.

Funny you bring this up... Mine broke the first time I used it (Northwestern) game. I called every Costco in the area, and found the last one in St. Charles. Got there, and it was the floor model. Grudgingly I took it, but it actually suffers from the same damn issue. Grrrrr...

What is the issue?...so I know to look out for it.

If its the frame maybe you can call the 1800 number on the tag?

What is the issue it suffers from?

My husband had to fix ours. One of the metal "buttons" inside the leg would not click into place when we pushed up on the leg locking thingy. He ended up drilling out the hole on 2 legs. Not sure of specifics. But it is fixed now.
Thankfully he's a pretty handy Mr. Fix it kind of guy.

That's the issue Addict... Two legs, two buttons popped in, now it's happening on this one too. I'm a handy guy, but have been hesitant to do much to alter because I hear the Coleman warranty process is beyond frustratin. Costco's return policy is beyond awesome, but they don't have more tents, so I'm not willing to go that route.

What did your husband do to fix it?

He drilled out the holes more I think. I will ask him but I can't right now because he is out of town at a job site. He'll be back end of the week. I will ask him to post on here what he found the problem to be & what he did to fix it. We set ours at up home once when we 1st got it just to see it...then the 1st time we used it at Northwestern, one leg would not click into the lock position.
This is not at all what I would expect from Coleman. It is very disappointing actually. I expected better quality.

We will give you guys an answer before the game on Sat., OK? That way you can hopefully fix it before then.

Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me, we set it up once, worked fine, then the two opposite poles wouldn't lock in (button wouldn't engage because it was recessed inside the pole) when we put it up at Northwestern.

Would totally agree regarding the quality, I have a strong mind to let Coleman know what I think... especially given the cost associated. I'm debating on whether to alter like you have, or limp through the remaining home games (likely only using tent for Oct 11th and 18th) and then push Coleman to fix the frame (so I can retain the canopy).

If they don't have one FedEx to your doorstep let em know youre going to take it up with Costco.

On the positive side, it seems these were in about 3 or so stores in the area and "sold-out" in less than 2 months. (24-48 a store?)

Are these babies still sold out in naperville? Imagine it'd come in handy this Sat.

I believe so. My brother called all the Chicago area stores to see if they'd ship it to dallas and they were all out.

I believe he called geneva and Naperville yesterday.

Correction - they showed up in mid to late June. At least they did the first time you posted about them in 2014 HuskieJohn.

CarterShaw - keep an eye at Costco. They've had them the past 2 years so hopefully they will have them again this year. You know someone will post on the board if they see them.

The quality at VCB - not as good. The Coleman brand NIU canopies at Costco are much better quality.
