RE: Amazing Stat from 2013-14 FB Season
I am VERY confident QB play will be much better after viewing 4 different days of spring camp. I witnessed plays being made I never saw since the first time I saw a game or practice 4+ years ago. The line should be solid, running backs solid. The weakest area of offense may be receiver and I think they are solid also. Injuries are only thing I believe that will slow this offense from keeping the defense fresh and off the field which I believe is the key to this season.

No one wants to blame Campbell, but he really needed a second top notch QB last year. TO was not challenged to be the starter and the result was mediocrity from the QB position. Woodside was just too raw as a true fresnman. This year with 3 quality guys fighting for playing time, I agree that we are much better off than last season.

I did say they were solid, but maybe not as strong as the other two groups mentioned.

They really can't be any worse than last year. Even Russell would disapear in games.

Agree. In a way, the coaches were stuck with the cards they were dealt, though.

The main thing, I think, is this: Field the guys whose #1 priority is winning; not the guys whose #1 priority is savin' themselves for "the league."

The area that needs the most improvement on the offense is route running of WR, preferably beyond the first down marker. RBs catching the ball is not a weakness on this team.

Woodside looked pretty solid at the spring game as I recall. We can pick away but this team looks pretty solid.
This is our season.

I'm looking for Hunt to have a very productive sophomore season.

I wanna hear a lot of "YOU'VE BEEN KAREEMED"!

That tends to happen when the QB can't deliver the ball accurately or make the correct read.

RE: Amazing Stat from 2013-14 FB Season
Those stats regard yards per play for rushing plays vs. passing plays are astounding.

After the spring game this year I said that I thought that we would see a serious upgrade in the quality of play at both the QB and receiver positions this year and I still feel that way. Last year between the the turnovers, overthrows and dropped passes, the passing game was really sub-par particularly given the truly outstanding pass protection provided by the O-line. Frankly except for Fluellen (who was injured a good part of the season) and Kerin (who was not a "skill position" player) I didn't think that last year was the best as a Rocket player for any of the regular seniors on offense.

I think that this year's team has the potential to be a far better team than we have seen here in some time, however, merely having potential vs. actually achieving something special are two very different things----but we will know a lot about this team after the first three games.

If we have a QB who is able and willing to spread the ball around, and can thread the needle, that is what will expose the talent of our receiving corps. Too many drops, let 'em sit and next man up.
