Your SBC Team's BEST TRADITION
You gotta role with one (For the sake of stAte and ULM having to change mascots and still in the process of establishing traditions recently, we can allow old school traditions)

but seriously, I like letting our rescue Bald Eagle "Freedom" fly from the top of the press box down to the field before games. Not sure how long we've been doing that, but I love it. They also do it at graduation, and I got chills watching him swoop down over all of us. Great moment. I know other places do it too, but I'm a huge fan.

Auburn's Eagle flying around is about the scariest damn thing to ever fly over my head when I went to the ASU/Auburn game back in 2010

RE: Your SBC Team's BEST TRADITION
Not a football tradition...and probably not our best tradition...but right after commencement ceremonies, many graduates walk out of the coliseum and jump into the river, dress clothes/graduation robe and all. They do it year-round, at fall graduation (December) as well as spring (May) and summer (August).

The annual hiring of football coaches is stAte's best tradition.

RE: Your SBC Team's BEST TRADITION
our order of the pack (formerly order of the tribe) is very popular and one of the few long standing traditions we still have. They've since moved it to our football stadium

Haha, not that I know of. It did fly away once because Eagles soar and don't really "fly" so they tend to ride wind. The wind was blowing the opposite direction of where he was supposed to go, so he just turned around and landed about a quarter mile down the road by our soccer field haha. It wasn't funny at the moment, but I got a good laugh about it later.

A couple of years ago Air Force was playing in the Independence Bowl their falcon flew around the stadium and I remember the telecast following him flying away and into the distance and they cut to the handler looking up with no falcon coming back.

They eventually found him downtown Shreveport trying to get people to feed him-it was highly amusing to watch.

Never have lost a bowl game. It has been 53 years since the last bowl game.

For every Aggie kickoff, NMSU Aggie football fans eagerly await the "Wonder Dog" to retrieve the kicking tee from the field during home football games. This fun tradition started in the mid 1990s. More on NMSU Traditions.

Don't know. Probably not.
I used to think it would be cool if it swooped down and snatched somebody's hair weave off -- or grabbed a hotdog out of someobdy's hand, you know, just for fun.

My favs:

-The student section conducting the band pre-fight song when they first march into the stadium.
-Jumping into duck pond to celebrate just about anything

It was a very strong wind that day and Freedom actually turned about three times trying to make it to the East end of the field to handler Steve Hein but the wind was gusting too strong. Lucky he decided to land instead of continuing to ride the winds. He was very happy to see Steve headed his way. Freedom has an injured beak and could not survive in the wild.

That is a great tradition. Love dogs. I have wanted us to train a 900 pound bear to do that for years, but for some reason our administration didn't cotton to the idea.
