College Football Teams Playing the Fewest Winning Opponents in 2014
http://www.fbschedules.com/2014/06/colle...ents-2014/

We have 5: The Blazers have Mississippi State (7-6), Western Kentucky (8-4), North Texas (9-4), Middle Tennessee (8-5) and Marshall (10-4). The remainder of their schedule includes FCS Alabama A&M and six teams that combined for a 21-51 (29%) in 2013.

There are several teams that only play 3 games vs. bowl eligible teams from the previous season.

Of the 5, we played 2 last year. Marshall beat us like a government mule and we pissed the MTSU game away.

I know Marshall's schedule is extremely weak next season. They were originally scheduled to host Louisvillle but Louisville decided to postpone the game to accommodate their move to the ACC. Marshall replaced them with Rhode Island. It seems as if the better C-USA teams from last season are either making the trip to Huntington or not on the Herd's schedule. They have a legitimate chance to go undefeated if they do not have a total collapse on the road as the program has been known to do.

Marshall is almost impossible to be beat in Huntington. I'm glad we get to play them in Birmingham this year.

this was posted on the main board and I'm just adding it to this thread

What I noticed is the strongest teams from last year...Rice, Marshall, MUTS, UNT plays the easiest schedules ...out and in conference. At least going by how each school finished last year.

It's kind of hard to read the schedules in the boards format...click on it will enlarge the picture

EDIT: just realized I left out ODU..not on purpose. I guess that kind of thing happens when you are doing numbers at 3am I will add ODU later today

Marshall actually has the nation's highest winning percentage at their current home stadium. UAT is number two. Marshall's away games this season are UAB, Southern Miss, ODU, FIU, Miami (OH) and Akron. UAB took Cato and the Marshall offense completely out of rythm two years ago at Legion Field. On the bright side, Alabama lost to Texas A&M that day!
