I would like to believe this part, but sadly it's become far too common for criminals to turn the story around to be the one who was victimized worse. Reminds me of the Jena Six bastards that used the color of their skin to be the victims instead of the innocent white kid they left for dead.

"He saw a little boy get hit; there was a little boy lying in the street bleeding and crying. That uncovered some very deep, emotional feelings in my client."

Sorry kiddo, I don't buy it, and I don't give a f*ck, I'm glad you lost sleep. You left the dude in a coma and six weeks of hospital therapy, he is still recovering from brain damage.

Dollars to donuts that this kid is so remorseful if he gets no jail time he'll be arrested again within a year for something similar. I seriouslyb doubt this kid's life was turned around by this event.
