NBR: a forgotten NCAA basketball career
You'd think that a guy who played D1 basketball and had 221 assists in a season, 590 in his career, and an 8.2 assists/game season would be remembered for that.
Instead, he's remembered for 3,141 hits and a lifetime .338 batting average over a 20 year MLB career.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the late, great, and very classy Tony Gwinn. RIP.

I can't think of a more classy MLB player than Tony Gwynn.
Nobody around that time frame could come close to being the hitter that he was.
Probably nobody since.
