Typically an armed attack happens in a "gun free" zone. Attackers see it as a target rich environment.

Because I don't overlook any possibility. If they put people on the ground, I'll be ready. They may never make it that far, but what if they do? If that happens, mass hysteria among citizens, looting, rioting, the possibilities are endless. How easy would it be for these guys to take a flight to Mehico and cross the border right now?
