RE: "So called P5" can't leave NCAA/form new division

And I'm saying you don't know the will of the entire state based off the fan bases of UF and FSU. You're guessing, but pretending it's fact. And politicians do the will of their constituents, or they are "ex-politicians". It's called the electoral process.
The paradigm of who is/isn't the flagship of Florida is quickly changing. In 10 years time, UCF will be on par with UF and FSU from a statewide fan base perspective. You're welcome to disagree, but UCF is the largest school with the fastest growing fan base in the state. Those graduates will move into more and more political offices. Just a matter of time.

Again, if you think the people and politicians of Florida care so much about U_F that they will decide not to let UF or FSU remain in the SEC or ACC in a seperate P5 to protect them I would say it is you that doesn't understand the state of Florida.

The big mistake the small schools make is assuming the NCAA is the US Department of College Sports.
It is not.
The saddest part of that thinking is that there are so many who believe the nanny state will solve all of their problems. It's political ignorance and a large part of the reason that so many of our freedoms are being eroded. Those raised to think that government solves their problems now outnumber those of us geezers who grew up in a country where the government was accountable to the people and the people were expected to solves their own problems. Conference realignment is a sports business matter and not a national crisis. Iranians and Iraqis getting together on nukes is a matter deserving of national attention, not the machinations of the P5, or the subsequent complaints of the G5!

Once again, the haves raise their glasses and gloat that they are running the show, and we the masses should ring the bells and take joy in it.
Don't preach to me about being self sufficient. I'm a combat veteran who served in two conflicts, and Ive never taken a nickel from the government. We shall see how it turns out, but I will remind you daily if the government shuts your little cartel down.
