Here's my contribution...

This is probably one of the oldest/most popular precursors to GIS and spatial thinking.

In 1854 an English physician named John Snow mapped the incidents of cholera during an outbreak in London. It was linked to a tainted water supply from the pump in the center of the map.

It really should've been. The history of Dorne is very interesting. My favorite general would be Eddard Stark.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

But the real John Snow was an amazing guy. He did something so simple by todays standards, and yet so advanced for back that that it is truly remarkable.
