Even jerks are correct sometimes.

This will just blow up into another arms race. The SEC will get rid of their rule and before you know it schools will all be having warring camps all over the place hosted by Phoenix Online and Colorado School of Mines or something. It's ridiculous.

Lets trade rules with the SEC. No more "guest coaching" at camps in return for no grayshirting whatsoever.

Schools are totally prohibited from signing more than 25 recruits a year, no exceptions.

Deal?

We will agree to this. If you will agree that 25x4= 100. Not 85

That makes no sense! You advocate greyshirting and using that as a "loophole" for signing more than 25 per year, despite the fact that we ALREADY have the mathematical fact that 25 x 4 > 85?

Besides, Arkansas (nor any other school) doesn't need 100 scholarship athletes. 85 provides at least 3-deep to every position, even with redshirts.

Max of 25 per, max of 85 overall. It's really not that hard to adhere to.

RE: More whining from SEC coaches
Rutgers used to have HS camps in Florida and Vince Dooley from Georgia whined about it and the current rule was then put into place. I'll give credit to Franklin for exploiting a loophole in the rule to his advantage. Coaches recruit where the talent is located. It is every programs responsibility to protect their "home turf"; if you can't, you shouldn't whine to the NCAA to do it for you.

RE: More whining from SEC coaches
By the way, this is what it will look like when Penn State or Notre Dame "guest coaches" with an FCS team at a camp near the FCS school. (This is for Washington State "guest coaching" in LA this weekend)

Since Arkansas State and (at least previously) Southern Miss, use this loophole, I can't get too upset about it.

I'm not upset about us using a host body....I just don't want us to be a host body.

The Rutgers staff will be guest coaching in Florida too. I fully expect the SEC to drop their ban before next summer.

An old professor I had told me he stopped caring about college sports b/c there's nothing "North Carolina" about the Tar Heels.... meaning most of the players aren't even from the state. I thought he had a good point actually.

If my school was that way, I'd feel the same way. But UC's roster is usually 1/3-1/2 kids from greater Cincinnati, with most of the rest coming from the tri-state area of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. There's even 3 players from my relatively small high school on the current roster.

UC fans really feel that we're cheering for "our kids."

For the most part that's how it is at ECU. About 2/3 of the roster is from NC with several from SC and VA. We've got a few from FL and GA mixed in there too.

FWIW, I'm not a UNC fan. Not sure if my post read that way. The professor was just using UNC as the example since they're the flagship.
