They only got the 3 seed because they beat us in the regular season.

RE: Future and Current SBC Regional Matchups
Mercer first team out at rpi 46. So 45 is sort of the magic number in RPI to be able to get an at-large.
When we lost to Kennessaw St. we were struggling. Something happened the last part of the season for us as we finished 11-2 over the last 13. I hope we keep it going. It we could have avoided that slide for about a month when we played very poorly our record instead of 39-21 would be something like 49-11. It is the difference in being a 2 seed and a 4 seed, but at this point we are in and have a chance just like 63 other teams.

Enjoy "The Animals" at FSU. They are a rowdy fun loving group. They even invited us to their tailgate last year. Great people and Great fans!! The atmosphere there when you're playing FSU is intense. They really don't like Bama and let their obnoxious fans know it when we beat them the second time in the regional.
Anyone making the trip needs to hit up Sweet Rack Rib Shack, Birds Aphrodisiac Oyster Bar, and Voodoo Dog.

Yeah, The Animals are one of the most famous fan groups in College Baseball. GSU fans will love when they break into "O Canada" in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Polls are not run by the NCAA. RPI is. Their RPI was 8 or so...so they were not seen as the top team in the country. Whether or not that's right or fair, its how it works, and up for the Cajuns to prove them wrong.

looks like they would have to add a lot of students over the summer to get to 32k.. dont offer many academic fields. not much of a campus..must have a pretty good baseball team

As of this Fall semester, Kennesaw State University is being merged with Southern Polytechnic State University. The campuses are located less than 10 miles apart. The combined enrollment of KSU/SPSU will be between 30,000 - 32,000.
KSU will field their first football team this fall, playing FCS ball in the Big South Conference. Their stadium is a converted soccer stadium that seats a little over 8,300.
With the many technical and engineering programs coming over from SPSU, KSU will offer quite a few academic fields.
Their campus may be compact and land-locked, but it is not bad at all. The school has many many commuter students, but the vast majority take their classes during daylight hours (unlike a university in downtown Atlanta) and the students generally live within 20 miles of the campus.

They don't start playing football until 2015. And furthermore, the amount of students that take night classes at GSU is a fraction of the traditional student. Glad Wikipedia could help you out with the rest.
KSU is one of the hottest teams in college baseball right now having won 23 of their last 24. That is why they are a higher seed. They also have one of the best college baseball players in the country in Catcher Max Pentecost who is projected to be a top 20 pick in the draft. He lost his 36 game hitting streak in the A-Sun tournament.

Hey, that's about the same spot where Garret Wittels lost his hitting streak for FIU.
Sorry, Sorry, There's an old wound there that is still festering.

I've actually stated I would prefer to be Atlanta University over Georgia State. The urban schools that GSU want to identify with are generally named after the city they are in (Pitt, Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis, etc.)
