A couple of observations: Karl Moton should make up his mind. 03-lol

I didn't follow UAB basketball back in the day, but Stamp Jackson must've been a helluva baller to rank above PD3.

It'll be fun to see if Mehenti can snatch 21 away from Kinnard.

I think I would take Frank Haywood over Bristow and I know it is tight but I might take PDIII although Stamp was one hell of a player. You can't go wrong with either. I ant argue much with him taking Stamp.

Stamp and Delaney were tough. I went with Stamp based his career rankings.

Haywood, Bristow, Reggie Allen, Clarence Thrash, willie chapman era all sort of blend together for me

McKinley Singleton vs Cameron Moore was also tough. Mincy vs Giles as well.

Without looking it up, if he didn't finish his career with more fouls than points, it was damn close.

3-Barry Bearden
12-Corey Jackson
22-McKinley Singleton
25-Frank Haywood
31-Eddie Collins
34-Glenn Marcus
#24 has the best group of players...
#4 Stanley Jackson and Paul Delaney have the same type game, Stanley with a slight edge

All of those were tossups for me. Marcus had the better career, only because he was here longer than Braden. But Daryl Braden was damn good.

Maybe even just moving screens.

Agree on Haywood over Bristow.

Also, Dylan Howard might be worthy to be the best at his number. Had a very good career.

Just a note - Barry Bearden (he and his older brother Robert were students of mine at West End HS) is the current men's BBHC at Altamont School in B'ham.

Bearden has been at Altamont for several years now.

I seemed to recall that Archie Johnson helped out there as well if I am not mistaken.

I think Archie was coach there before Bearden.

As far as #34, Howard was great on defense, but couldn't score. The best player in that group was probably Cliff Pruitt. Recruited by Bartow at UCLA and transferred to UAB to play one season. Was the best player on the team instantly. I would still go with Braden or Marcus.

Not unlike George Drake.

What current players on that list do you think have the best chance at usurping those you have selected in their number by the end of their careers at UAB?

1 Denzell Watts over AJ - no
13 Chad Frazier over Andy Kennedy - no
21 Tosin Mehinti over Lawrence Kinnard - 30%
22 Tyler Madison over Cam Moore -30%
25 CJ Washington over James Bristow 60%

The best players (for UAB) not highlighted:

I'd say
Paul Delaney (perhaps my favorite Blazer all-time)
Donnell Taylor
Demario Eddins
Chris Giles
Chad Frazier
Eli Millsap (ruined things by leaving early)
Fred Williams

One question: Did Keenan Ellis ever suit up for a game?

Keenan Ellis did not suit up for us, and he has to rank as the skinniest "blazer" ever. I believe they had him at about 6'11" 180 lbs.

RE: Basketball jersey numbers
The only one that stuck out as one I might change was the PDIII, but like Smaug, I wasn't around for the Stanley Jackson years. Of course, that was the case with a lot of those guys...I just can't imagine a guy being better than PDIII not having his jersey # hanging from the rafters.

I guess that shows in the grand scheme of things how little time I have in as a Blazer fan.

Here's a question: Outside of the 3 guys with jerseys retired, who was/is our best player?
