RE: Houston Not Hosting--
Silver lining is that if we win the Baton Rouge regional, we'll get Rice in the Super Regional.

UCF did not make the tournament.

And Houston as the #10 team in the RPI got sent as a Two seed to a Top 8 National Seed (LSU).

No one to blame but ourselves. Too many bad losses, we lost our last two AAC series, and we were barely .500 in our last dozen games or so. Most of the publications had us as one of last teams in, but I'm not surprised we were left out. The guys did great job turning around a bad start to the season, but we couldn't afford to slip up towards the end the way we did. Hopefully next season they'll be able to win more of those 1-run games that we lost so many of this year. Onward and forward.

Well said. UCF had opportunities and didn't get it done. That's sport. I hope our young men stick around and improve for next year. Good luck to the Coogs, make the AAC proud.

We have no teams in the AAC hosting a NCAA baseball regional. Very sad. The SEC has five. Let us hope Tulane hires a quality young aggressive baseball coach and brings the team back to national prominence! One day add Rice to the conference.

Yes on the Tulane part. No thanks on the Rice part. Baseball isn't important enough to suffer everything else.

It does suck having to go through LSU at the box, but the rest of the bracket is cake. Rice's bracket is brutal.

Both have generally fielded solid baseball squads, but for whatever reason have not done very well the last few years. With only 8 schools fielding baseball teams, we will need the ECU and Tulane baseball programs to get well quick.

We also lose Rutgers (no loss) and Temple. Temple cut baseball. This sucks for those involved with the Temple program, but it's a positive development for the league.

Tulane is looking for a new coach. Hope it goes well for them. We need them to regain their strength.

Not sure what's up with ECU baseball. They have a lot of fan support and good history.

UConn was down this year. They can be good again. There's no reason why USF and UCF aren't NCAA teams every year.

It has the potential to be a very good league:

Houston
UCF
UConn
USF
East Carolina
Tulane
Memphis
Cincy

I guess recruits would rather play for UofTampa. 51-2 Going into the D11 CWS

ECU program looking at some changes coming up. Current performance level isn't acceptable.

Add in #1 ranked Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and you would be correct. It would be a top 5 maybe 4 RPI league.

Sorry to hijack/pimp my school.

Houston should have hosted no doubt. Rice should have been a 2 seed. They are living off of reputation.

Sounds like USF needs to hire the Tampa coach ASAP. Like Rice did with Wayne Graham who built a powerhouse at San Jac JC before coming to Rice.

Just like basketball the AAC was apparently not very impressive to the committee. The AAC teams I guess will need to schedule very strong OOC games until the league is more established.

I don't see why you say that. RPI is a well-respected standard, as it captures OOC strength of schedule.

Houston was just unlucky in that their RPI wasn't so overwhelmingly positive that it was a must that they get a regional, and that Rice, a school in the same town, got one.

Absent Rice, Houston gets a regional.

It will be a tremendous experience for Houston to play at the Box. Not often you get to play in front of 10,000+ fans in college baseball.

It's arguably the best place to play in the country.
