Mercer baseball ranked #24 and defeats #8 Florida
Mercer baseball's incredible season (and string of successful seasons) continues to roll along. The other night they beat #8 Florida (#2 RPI) by a score of 4-2. Story: http://www.mercerbears.com/sports/bsb/20...0506fvcm5r

Just like basketball, these marquee wins are becoming so common that as fans we take them for granted. This season also includes a 2-game season sweep of Georgia Tech (#30 RPI). Years ago each of those games would have monumental. Now Mercer is the favorite. Baseball America has recognized Mercer's success and has ranked them #24 for two consecutive weeks. With a win over Florida in the bag, a successful weekend against Stetson should push the Bears up in the poll even higher. BA Poll: http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/c...-25-may-5/

Mercer sits at 35-11 and an RPI in the #20 range. Projections have them as a #2 seed in the regionals. There's 7 regular season games to go (Stetson and ETSU series, plus 1 non-conference with Georgia State).

Go Bears!
