I mean yeah, I know hes not actually the top dual prospect. But if that offer this is accurate, that's a pretty big pickup.

he ha°has 2 offers uab & troy

in all likelyhood you guys just added another WR to your line up

If you read the article is says " Jacobs III choose the Pirates of Conference USA over a number of schools, most notably West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas-San Antonio, Utah State, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Arizona State, Oregon State, Tulsa and Memphis, among others, according to his father."

Maybe his dad is lying, maybe not, but I know for a fact rivals is rarely correct when it comes to offers, specifically the pirates. Sometimes they remove offers as well after kids commit. . . its a weird business.

bleacher report 07-coffee3

and i understand missing 1 or 2 offers but that many from that many top schools?

yes the article is on the bleacher report but that quote comes from his dad. I don't really know why his dad would feel the need to specifically mention schools if it was untrue. However, your opinion on the matter is probably more reliable than the mans father.

Where did I brag? I simply put the title of the article in the title, and guess what genius, I didnt write the article. I don't understand why our fans try to bring this crap over here and cry their way through every thread.

Dude, you are a new poster. We have seen countless thread started like this, and they never end well. The overrepresentation of ECU fans here has its major faults.

Do you see other schools posting this crap? Bleacher Report is not a reputable source. I clicked on it because I knew what it was about and wanted to make that statement.

I've been on this board since 2009 I believe, and I have seen it hundreds of times, this board included. It's a big statement to make, and I also thought his dad mentioning all those offers was news worthy for the off season. I honestly think it's better than the same old: add x,y,z, as bball only members, or make your dream conference, or what do we do when uconns gone threads that we get to ad naseum.

Keep uselessly ruining threads though.

I've been on this board since 2009, I think. I was banned during the buckineer fiasco, then I made another years later with my school email but when I graduated they took my email away, then I recently made this one. I'm not that new, been a poster on PI since 2008, and HTC.

I get BR is ****, like I said before I thought it was a discussing piece for the off season since we will be replacing carden. Sorry though, didn't realize how sensitive people were.

or maybe the father choose his words wisely, teams show interest in numorous players that doesn't mean they offered, why every athlete has numerous school on their recruiting page (schools that recruited them and looked into them to see if theyd b interested) but also have a check section for "offered"

and don't twist it, its not "my opinion" vs "the mans father"

its all 5 major recruiting sites vs the father of a kid trying to pump up his son and the school he chose

Wow, that’s a pretty bold statement by the writer. He will be a starter in the 2015 season?

Best in the country, with PJ Walker having 2 more years of eligibility left in 2015 this kid may not the best duel threat in the conference.

Highlights attached, watch the runs at the 2:20, 3:50, 4:40 and 5:30 marks and the throws at the 8:08 and 9:24 mark.

If Ruff and Riley are bringing him in then I'll assume he knows how to throw a ball cause that's what we do for a living at a level as good or better than 90 to 95% of schools in football.

You can't refute running a 4.46 at a combine. The guys fast so if he can throw and in our system he should be able to that would be dangerous.

Since Jameis Winston is now considered a triple threat (Run, Pass, Shoplift) I could see this being true.

Alright im not trying to argue with people. I thought it would be an interesting discussion since we have to replace carden and we really haven't seen anything from any of our backups. I also thought there were some surprising comments made in both articles . . . my mistake, I wont post on this thread again and we can just let it die.

RE: Warning Bleacher Report: ECU quarterback best dual threat in the country
Kid had two offers from Troy and UAB other schools had been recruiting him WVU OK State Arizona to name a few but none had offered. He has a visit scheduled at Arizona as I understand it lets hope he cancels now that he is committed to ECU. Per his head coach he wanted to make his choice early and concentrate on winning a state title his senior year. His head coach thinks more offers will come but he thinks he will stay loyal to ECU.

Apparently this kid has a two person hype machine between his father and QB coach. For everything that I don't like about the story, 24/7 has him at 3 stars and that's pretty decent.

whitey= gets mad at AAC fan for commenting on topic in aac forum?

and actually an ecu fan jump in on about 95% of the threads here including the ones that involve houston. if i remeber correctly when we signed the #3 basketball juco it was a ecu fan who can into the thread and said he wasnt good

and secondly what other ecu threads have i been in? this is probably the only one, and i guarantee if i created a thread about a houston 2 star commit with 2 sunbelt offers and posted a bleacher report article that he was the dual threat qb, im certain a ECU fan would have jumped in on that

the only threads i get in vs ECU fans are general threads (bowl projections, projected standing, or in genreal threads like expansion stuff)
and i only ever get it in with ecu fans because they are the ones trying to ruin other peoples food, like the last 1 i can think of is some ecu fan was saying the smu has no shot and 0% of beating ecu and it was laughable to think otherwise in a general thread about projections. i came in and said i have ecu a comfortable favorite but i wouldnt go that far that smu was not that bad of a team and that june jones is an offensive genius that even though id pick ecu to win i wouldnt count out smu that easily

im sorry i dont lets ecu fans run rampant with ridiculous projections and trash talk other teams because they are over confident and few know about teams in this league

Ok, I know it is the bleacher report, so don't kill me, but this is a pretty bold statement. The weird thing is he isn't rated that high on other sites. Has he emerged as a much more desirable prospect, or is this guy trying to get his buddies son more looks? Idk, interesting none the less

updated article with ECU commitment:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/20680...lina-skies

Hey, Unfortunately when it comes to ECU football rivals, scout, and espn are so out of touch and misstate misrepresent Eastern Carolina I find the BR just as accurate as the others...They all sell fluff to the highest bidder..There are only about 40 players in any given year that are head and shoulders above the rest each year..they get divided by the top 8 schools..the rest are freshman projects..Ie..what was Blake Bortles ranked???

Yes guys and we have have this idiot Pesk here to tell us how great Temple was last year with their losses to Idaho and Fordham or exaggerate a guy that averaged a pedestrian 12.9ppg into a guy that averaged 25 a game. He actually said that crap. Of course it deserves a response.

He's like a roach any time ECU is mentioned. The fact is we know your teams, we beat Houstons ass the last time we played 18 months ago and finished 7-1 in the same conference with most of these same AAC schools like yours. We were even better overall last year and finished with votes in both top 25 polls unlike anyone else other than UCF in the AAC.

We beat the crap out of teams like North Carolina, Cincy couldn't. Yet we are supposed to be scared of the only teams we haven't seen in the last 2 years like Cincy who had some aweful losses, or the others like Temple, UConn, or USF that got run off the field by FCS schools because we "don't know them". GTFO. You are the only ridiculous and overconfident fan on here and overconfident for mess like Temple or UConn.
