Other C-USA tournament games
Middle Tennessee beats Old dominion in the opener, 3-2.

I couldn't tell from my lame GameTracker view, but rice-76-03-06 said that ODU loaded the bases in T9 with one out, but could push any runs across.

Yes, fly out by the #3 hitter and strikeout by cleanup hitter ended the game.

edit to add -- Video didn't start until 2nd inning, but it was a good feed with few/no dropouts. They appear to have independent announcers for the video feed.

The latter on a 3-2 count, according to my GameTracker view. (Balls & strikes being one of the few parts that was working.)

That had to be quite an exciting finish!

UTSA leads UAB heading to the bottom of the eighth 4-0. UAB is the home team. Maybe UAB has finally lost their mojo but I wouldn't count anyone out at this point. The UTSA starter, who held us to two runs, is doing a job on the Blazers to this point.

UTSA's starter only the 9th pitcher in C-USA tourney history with 10+ Ks. He's on point today.

Hartson, working on a 2 hitter for UTSA in the ninth, has thrown over 120 pitches. 11 strikeouts so far.

Hartson removed after strikeout #12. 8.1 innings giving up just two hits and one walk, while hitting one batter. He leaves a runner on first who arrived via error. 127 pitches. Still 4-0 with two outs left for the Blazers.

He pitched well against Rice too. He had nasty stuff. Lots of swings and misses. You ran into a buzz saw today and Mallard had one off inning.

USM/ECU game is getting interesting. USM broke on top 1-0, then ECU scored twice to go ahead, then USM came back with 2 more and they are still batting in the third. JP is handling the broadcast and he mistakenly said something very funny.

It's weird hearing JP do a baseball game for somebody other than Rice. Almost as weird as hearing him do a Rice game. But seriously, he seems to be doing a good job.

Apparently Foghorn Leghorn is a USM fan. I say, I say I can hear him yelling after every pitch.

Seriously. I'm watching the game and his many defects as a radio broadcaster don't seem to matter as much. He is more suited to doing color on a TV broadcast. The video must explain itself to absolve him of that crime. Or maybe it's just that I have the volume on low. Or even off. But I can still hear Foghorn Leghorn kibbitzing the umpire.

ECU loads the bases with no outs and I'm not sure Foghorn isn't an ECU fan. He mostly growls incoherently so it's hard to tell. 3-1 count and...

Ball four and it's 4-3 USM with the bases still loaded for ECU.

I agree with Elf, JP is doing a decent job calling the game. It definitely helps having the video, however.

Talley replaced by Lowry and an error on the first pitch ties the game at 4. Bases remain loaded.
