Kasich takes 15 pt lead in Ohio
http://www.limaohio.com/news/news/133839...rnors-race

Might say something about the mood of the country, since Kasich is not a particularly great governor.

And/Or it could mean that dems are spending their money elsewhere, and blew a load of it to win VA last year.

Also note that vew hasn't posted much on this.

I think we haven't heard much about it, because it was basically considered a "Lock" that Kasich was going to hold to the office.

RE: Kasich takes 15 pt lead in Ohio
Quote:Peter Brown, the assistant poll director, attributed the leap in numbers for Kasich to his reported $1 million statewide television advertising buy and the fact that FitzGerald has not run ads on TV yet. “TV matters. You move numbers in modern politics through TV,” Brown said.

Meanwhile, FitzGerald is largely unknown to Ohio voters — 63 percent say they don’t know enough about him to form an opinion, the poll found. “Mr. FitzGerald has a ways to go introduce himself to the Ohio electorate and he needs to do it a little faster in all likelihood,” Brown said.

But TV ads are expensive, particularly in a large state like Ohio, and FitzGerald reported just $1.5 million in campaign cash on hand compared with $8.5 million reported by Kasich. A gap in poll numbers can make fundraising more difficult.

I've only been living out of Ohio for almost three years...and I have no clue who Fitzgerald is either.

The day after he is re-elected, Kasich will take a vacation trip to Iowa.

Two of the same. Better would be Kasich and Rubio. That would give the Repubs the two major swing states of Ohio and Florida.

Whatever it takes to take those losers that are in the White House out. I don't know much about Kasich but I do know about Rubio. Someone said that he'd be taking a vacation after election. Nothing different than Obama, right?

If you think Kasich would take Ohio hands down, you're dreaming. Not saying he wouldn't win, but it would not be a slam dunk in any way shape or form.

Kasich is nothing special. Not overly conservative.

Kasich is nothing special. Not overly conservative.

He'd take the tea partiers thanks to hammering down on public unions. He'd take the general republican base thanks to his pro-business owner tax code changes and spending cuts (balanced budget!). Social conservatives would generally probably support him, but the gun lobby would destroy him due to voting with the Democrats in 1994 for the assault weapons ban.

On the opposite side, you will see the democrats hammer him over the public union assault, cuts to the public schools, and such.

He'd be an interesting candidate for the Republicans for sure. I love the fiscal conservatism in him, don't necessarily like the way he did it but it was ultimately successful.
