all rational people disagree with the weazen, hate filled old bastard on that. all real americans (yea, I said it) disagree with reid on that.

the first amendment prohibits any abridgment of freedom of speech by government, especially political speech.

So you're fine with corporations giving unlimited amounts of money to political campaigns?

That's essentially buying elections. Who is a politician likely to pass laws for in office? The corporations that donated millions to their campaign? OR the constituents who gave little by little?

Citizens United destroyed democracy. Period.

you should have learned at WKU that corporations are legally created artificial people, with all rights guaranteed therein.

it's, as your hero likes to say, "the law of the land".

And that's wrong. Period.

And who exactly is my "hero"?

business law 101.

It's telling that you won't even mention Soros who has his name in the first word on the title of this thread. And then there are the unions, ACORN, and so on.

And since you mentioned corporations, we had a chart here showing that most of the top corporate money goes to democrats.

Bite me.

Money from corporations doesn't belong in politics, period. It destroys the democratic process.

If it weren't for money, there would be virtually no chance to defeat an incumbent. The incumbent has the advantage of pork and earmarks to "buy" their re-election.

If you eliminate corporate money, then all pork and earmarks must be eliminated also. No stimulus for "shovel ready projects." No infrastructure projects. These all contribute indirectly to the incumbent's re-election campaigns.

Nonetheless, since corporations pay taxes, they should not be prohibited from participating in elections that have a direct impact of their businesses.

blah, blah. freedom of speech lived, and the sun came out the next morning.

wanna know what destroyed democracy?

the nuclear option in the senate destroyed democracy. stealing everyone's healthcare via the underhanded parliamentary tactic of reconciliation destroyed democracy. recess appointments when congress isn't in recess destroyed democracy. weaponizing the IRS destroyed democracy. unilaterally passing new law during a press conference destroyed democracy.

citizens united isn't even in the top 100.

"Senate Minority Leader, Harry Reid."

Not as snappy as "Former US Senator, Harry Reid", but I'll take it.

When My own Union Steward came up to Me recently to contribute to COPE, I told Him to just Double His contribution for Me. He said Hell No, I won't even contribute My own self. We both know whats going on with that COPE Money. Many at the fortune 50 company I work for Don't vote for Democrats anymore. Soros needs to raise His Contributions to Them if He wants The Democrats to win again. Kentucky Twice didn't support Obama. Proud of Us .

You support their ability to buy elections. You're stupid. As long as Wall Street can give unlimited money to political campaigns, the people of the US are meaningless.

There is just one problem with that logic, corporations and corporate interests can't cast a single vote; only people can vote.

Money can't actually buy a vote per se.

Voters are the problem.

Until union money is taken out of the equation things will never stabilize.
Money coming from people that do not want it to go for a purpose is not ethical.
