**UPDATE: Former Lipscomb basketball coach Don Meyer has passed away according to various news reports. The legendary coach battled cancer for the last six years after being diagnosed following a car accident where he lost part of his leg.
No matter your feelings on Lipscomb or their religious views, he did it the right way and probably forgot more about basketball than 95 percent of the coaches out there will ever know.

Legendary retired Lipscomb basketball coach Don Meyer has been transferred into hospice care after weeks of declining health. ETSU never saw him as he never quite agreed with Lipscomb's visions of Division I grandeur, so he left.
No matter where you stand on religion or anything else, Meyer was one of hell of a great basketball coach, 923 wins no matter the level of competition is incredible.

RE: R.I.P. Don Meyer
There's a nice write-up and video on ESPN.com about this. I wasn't aware that Lipscomb won an NAIA national title back in the '80's.
