Middle Tennessee seems glad that Birmingham won the bid. If the city and UAB do it right, Birmingham could become the new Memphis. Location, location, location!

If we just become the old UAB we will be fine.

I was referring to Birmingham becoming the new Memphis as in hosting the city every year... not UAB becoming the new Tigers.

But, 'Old' UAB/Bham did host the conference tourney a lot.

If the new Memphis means dominating the conference year in and year out and having a gazillion something conference winning streak, why wouldn't we want that.

If UAB accomplished what Memphis did in CUSA, UAB fans would be just as arrogant. We have already shown that we have the aptitude for it.

Right now we should just hope attendance is good enough for us to warrant a second opportunity.

Yep. We are going to have to rely on other teams bringing fans. UAB games will be well attended, no doubt, but how many average fans are going to want to watch UTSA play Marshall in the first round?

Some matchups are not going to bring in fans if the games were free. UTSA & Marshall might draw 1500 in San Antonio and 3000 in Huntington.

It will e no different than any other C- USA tournament. We just need to make sure we show up for the championship no matter who is playing. I thought the crowd was good for UC and Charlotte last time. We need to better that.

That was because the championship game was between Charlotte and Louisville and had Louisville fans in attendance.

Charlotte Cincinnati was the semi final along with UAB Louisville.

How many watch Boston College play Miami in Greensboro during the ACC tournament?

Not very many.

We don't really need to be concerned with attendance as a conference until the semis and the final. If those games are empty, we have some serious problems.
