Who "won" the draft and why?
1. Which NFL team had the best draft, overall?

2. Which NFL team had the best draft taking into account their pick order/number of picks at the onset of the draft?

3. Why?

Cleveland did pretty well getting Manzeil with the 22nd overall pick. They had 2 first and 2 third rounders and because of trades, I believe they have 2 first, 2 second and 2 third rounders next year. They set themselves up very well for the next few years. Now all they need is to pick up a blue chip WR in free agency. Since that's the only area they didn't address in the draft. They picked up 2 cornerbacks in the 8th pick and 127th pick both with good size. Always a good position to have depth.

Still shocked the Texans didn't do back in there to take Manziel in the late first. They could have packaged a 2 and a 3, or a 2 and a 1st next year. Thought all those teams after Dallas would have made that trade. As it stands, I would have to say the Rams. I think they've done an excellent job solidifying the trenches and I expect them to jump one of the teams in the NFC West this year. If Bradford stays healthy, they should be a 9-7 club, which could easily be 12-4 in another division.

it takes years before you can ever measure a single draft class. and besides, you should mention a teams multiple drafts over a 2-4 year period to really determine who won. why punish a team for opting to trade down for better picks next year?

Two winners:

1. The teams....Saint Louis with getting Greg Robinson and Aaron Donald...amazing Donald lasted until the 13th Pick.

2. The NFL in General...their TV Ratings were higher than World Series Games...the NFL is Truly KING....04-cheers

Round One of the Draft had a 4.6 share with 9.9 million viewers; while the World Series games last year averaged an 8.9 share and 14.6 million viewers (4th lowest rating of all time). Even if you add in NFL Network coverage you don't quite reach that level... that said, you are correct that NFL is king, this is a draft verses the championship series and it's relatively close.

Baseball is the only sport who's championship series goes head-to-head with play of all the other major sports leagues NFL, NBA, and NHL! Not to mention college football during rivalry weeks and college basketball starting. There is no shortage of sports options in November as the snow starts flying!

Manziel has talent but if he continues to run straight down the field with the ball, he will be a casualty of a central division safety.

Nobody said that you had to punish a team for trading for picks next year. Also, take a team's needs and how well they addressed those needs into account if you want (I assume this is why you want to use multiple years). Nobody said that you couldn't.

Actually you are not correct...the numbers you're using are the 2013 numbers...this is the 2014 numbers.....ESPN Round 1 of the NFL Draft rating was 6.8...the NFL Network was 2.8...9.6 Total...a Total 45.7 Million viewer...here is the link:
