RICHMOND, Va. – VCU has selected Barton Malow and VMDO Architects for construction of the VCU Basketball Complex. Construction is expected to begin June 2.

The 60,000 square foot structure will be located adjacent to the Stuart C. Siegel Center at the corner of Kinney and Marshall Streets.

"We're excited about having Barton Malow and VMDO Architects, two of the best in their respective fields, working on this project for our student-athletes and our basketball programs," Director of Athletics Ed McLaughlin said. "We want to provide our student-athletes with the best possible experience and provide our coaches with the tools they need to continue to excel here at VCU. We believe that these two partners will do exactly that and we can't wait to see the project progress over the next 15 months."

The complex will include practice courts and viewing decks for both the men's and women's basketball programs, as well as nearby locker rooms, strength and conditioning center, training room with a hydrotherapy room and video viewing rooms.
