PAC 12 coaches rip SEC 8 games schedule
http://www.fbschedules.com/2014/05/pac-1...ng-format/

“We all need to play by the same rules. Don’t back down from playing your own conference,” Shaw said.

That’s not the first time Shaw has blasted the SEC. Back in November, he said the Pac-12 had the toughest schedule to navigate partly due to the SEC’s November “cupcakes.”

“You can write that — cupcakes,” Shaw told CBSSports.com.

Stanford lost at a cupcake named Utah. The Pac 12 voted for 9 games on their own. They did not bring up legislation to the NCAA that would mandate 9 games. In other words, they can also STFU.

RE: PAC 12 coaches rip SEC 8 games schedule
No one forced the Pac 12 to move to a 9 game schedule. If you think the SEC gets an unfair advantage by only playing 8 conference games, then the solution is to drop down to 8 conference games yourself.

RE: PAC 12 coaches rip SEC 8 games schedule
The PAC needs a 9 game schedule. There is far less competition for picking a strong OOC game in that region unlike the East Coast where We are close to B1G, SEC and Some AAC schools to shore up SOS with and maintain cross conference rivalries with near by schools. Even some Big 12 schools are close enough to SEC, B1G and ACC programs to work out.
The PAC can schedule in BYU and a Couple of MWC or Big12 schools but That isn't true for most of the PAC Conference as no real OOC rivalries exist for most .

100% correct!

Pac-12 (and for different reason, Big XII) schedule is irrelevant to ACC, B1G and SEC.

College football fans are quickly finding out what those of us in the southeast have known forever: The SEC cheats anyway it can. Welcome to the Party PAC.

Awful opinion considering the best programs in your new conference want 8 games.

At the moment, the rules say that each conference decides what its schedule will look like, based on what makes the most sense for them. If there is somebody not following that rule, then criticize. Otherwise, MYOB.

PAC 12 coaches are stupid. If they feel that it's unfair, then drop to 8 games as well. Pretty simple if you asked me.

SEC looking for every advantage. If they played 9 conference games it would mean more losses for half the teams. By sticking with 8 its cupcakes for everybody in November. Is it cheating, technically no, but it is shady. It certainly gives The SEC an advantage over conferences that play 9 conference games. Not as much as the bag men do but a nice SEC kinda of advantage.

There is no rule that you have to play nine games in your conference. The SEC is not cheating. They merely exercised their right to do what they wanted to do, and the other conferences exercised their right to do what they wanted to do which for the Big Ten and PAC 12 was nine games. Personally, I have no preference between eight or nine conference games.

Sure the SEC may cheat, but in this case they're not.

It isn't shady. The PAC14 voluntarily voted to move to 9 games and if they feel the SEC has such an unfair advantage, they can voluntarily vote to reduce it back down to 8 games. No one is forcing them to play 9 games.

I do like the freedom to schedule 3 OOC games each year and definitely on board to do away with divisions. You get to play everyone much quicker and have more freedom to spread Your H&H out so You're not facing all of the Top schools 1 year away then have famine the next. This applies to all ACC schools.
