While I believe the Sun Belt is down some this year Louisiana is clearly a very good team. It would be very hard to see a team that is top 3 or so in every major poll not get a national seed.

Yea you right. Well at least our RPI has been going up in the past 3 weeks. It went from 14 to 12, and now 8. Good thing teams that were ahead of us such as Ole Miss,(2-2), South Carolina (2-1), and Cal Poly (2-2) also had losses this week.

And Like GaSoEagle said...politics. The SEC could easily get 11-12 teams in the NCAA this year...despite the fact that more than one of those will have a worse RPI than ASU by the end of the year.

Cajuns could be left out of a National Seed simply because they don't play in the SEC. Its really not fair the political games that come in to play during the NCAA's each year.

I don't know how Louisiana could have had a better season than they have had so far. At 43-7 it is really hard to improve on that. So they have done about everything that they could do so far.

If Louisiana does not get a national seed I would figure it went to some SEC school.

Some experts are saying that only one of ULL and LSU will get a Super Regional this year...so the NCAA can pair them together.

That is what I would worry about with LSU having a very good year. Louisiana deserves it at this point however. Let s say Louisiana finishes 48-8 (5-1 over last 6)--- If a Sun Belt team with that record and a top 8 RPI does not get a national seed probably no Sun Belt team ever will.

They could have had a better record by having a bullpen that isn't struggling so much. We have no true closer that can come in and throw strikes and get outs, lately your stress level goes up when we have to depend on the bullpen to hold on to the lead the offense built.

We've had a couple of injuries which threw the rotation off. But any pitcher in the pen should be able to come out the bullpen and give at least one good inning.

Now if the opposing team gets on a rally, that's one thing, but when its walk after walk, throw a few wild pitches and hit by pitches in there and its very frustrating.

I promise you Coach Robichaux is very concerned with the Post Season coming up and the way the pen has been pitching.

The only teams that really beat the Cajuns by hitting was Alabama game 3, WKU game 1, and TXST game 2. People can bash me all they want, but Robichaux is saying the same thing being an ex-pitcher himself, it's driving him crazy.

I always feel bad for our starters that hold a team down for 7 innings and hangs on to the lead but his pitch count is getting up there, so you go to the bullpen to get the final outs, not just give the other team the game because no one can throw strikes.

They better get it together soon or we are going to have to build big leads to bail the bullpen out which should be the other way around.

It doesn't help that we have a second series against ULM. Nothing against the Warhawks, but we would have been better served playing almost any other team twice in the SBC than them because of RPI. Unfortunately, 1 loss is all we can afford, and might actually need to sweep the next 2 weekends for the national seed to be in play because of USA (142 RPI) and ULM (174 RPI) who both cant help us even if we beat them, but can hurt us badly with a loss. The biggest thing we have is that we need to have is to get to atleast the championship game, and extra matchups with stAte/Tx State/WKU would be nice.

Well, we donated you guys 7 runs last weekend with our top 25 defense. So we appreciate the help in the 7th.

if I was a Cajun fan, I would be glad I got out of there with two wins. If ASU doesn't screw up a bunt and give up 3 unearned runs, we win Friday.

You right, I'm very happy. I wasn't just referring to the ASU series. I was just concerned about the bullpen in general because it has been an ongoing thing that you saw this weekend.

If your top 25 defense was constantly donating 7 runs wouldn't you be concerned. At least a defense you can take someone out, but when no one in the bullpen can throw strikes, you are pretty much screwed. Like I said, this hasn't just been a problem for the ASU series.

I always find it funny when people bring up errors like it has nothing to do with the other team. It's what we do, we put pressure on defenses. We run every ball out, we have a lot of speed on the bases. We cause people to make errors because we keep coming at you. Ask your coach, he said he hasn't seen a team put pressure on like us in a long time. If it was an error or 2 in 1 game then maybe, you had errors all weekend and normally are very solid defensively. It's not a coincidence. Our bullpen will be fine, we have played half the season without 2 weekend starters and we are 43-7. No more mid week games left, we have every arm back, healthy and available now to get through 3 game series not 5 game weeks. We also just saw probably our best closer pitch his first inning of the year this week. We will be good.

Idaho - I really believe we will see a lot more consistency with our relievers now that we do not have any more midweek games. Our pitchers will not to do two jobs. This will help.

On another note, I am really excited that Strentz seems to have broken out of his slump. We need him going into the post season. Our linup has absolutely ZERO holes in it.

Exactly. Jay said on his radio show the other day that Arkansas State's coach said exactly this. That the Cajuns cause the errors with our speed and base running causing Arkansas Stateto hurry. It was not a fluke that Arkansas State had errors with their Top 25 defensive team. This is a trend for all of our opponents and people who know baseball know this.

I think the main impact the Cajuns had on AState errors was AState pushing too hard, expecting that they would have to make big plays to win and botching them instead.

Wow, well you coach doesn't seem to think that way! Clearly he thinks the Cajuns put pressure on the opponents defense. Of course our bullpen gave you a gift as well Sunday, using your mindset. I chose to believe Astate and UL found ways to win those games.

A fielder looking up on a routine grounder only to see the runner 3 steps from the bag causes errors. Hit and runs cause errors, every guy in the lineup being able to hit a triple off the wall or lay down a bunt cause errors. We have done it to every team all season long.
