Dude, everyone JMU employs or recruits sucks to you. Everything about JMU sucks to you. Nobody gives a rats ass to be honest.

Are we offering, or is he a preferred walk on? If the latter, then he is a practice player basically. But with hard work he can play himself onto the field on special teams or nickel d or something like that. Daniel Brown was a preferred walk on, and I am sure that there are many other successful players who began that way.

Nothing against the kid at all, but when you see a title "Withers gets a steal!" you kind of expect something more than a preferred walk on.

you have a point, but it simply accentuates the level of football in which we compete. FBS schools are not revved up by a walk-on. I like the way the guy hits and seems to be nasty too. But you have a point, and I wish you didn't.

My bet is on this kid. He reminds me of some of the smash mouth, no-nonsense guys we had back in '04.

Agree, the report shows he was recruited by schools like Randolph-Macon and Hampton Sydney and not UVA and VT. So, a steel seems too much hype. However, he does understand the angles and speed on a football field which means he is a smart player. I was impressed with how well he set himself up to cut off plays using the right angle to match his speed and approach to leverage a tackle. Same for some of his kick returns. He judged his speed and matched it to angles to gain yardage. Can he do this at the next level? If he comes to JMU, I hope so.

I'm friends with a guy that plays football at UVA. He's going to Florida. He doesn't have to sit out a year, either.
