I agree. Wish everyone well in all games except one. I also agree about Louisiana. I think they'll be good. Hudspeth doesn't put out bad teams. I just don't think they're going to the godsend most of their fans are expecting.

Lol! Never seen so much wishful thinking in my life! Good luck!

I think ULL is the de facto favorite due to last year's season and who they have returning. However, I think USA, TxSt, and Troywill all have good seasons and could contend for the title. stAte has been written off once again because of losing our head coach and/or QB. That's fine though, since it's worked out well the past few years. I think we could contend for a title again, but I think any conference game could be a potential loss too.

It really is hard to say.....but I would love for that last game of our year with UL to really mean a lot......as in winner goes to Cotton or at least mean something for us in better bowl etc........it could happen and since we don't play Texas State or ASU it really could be something.....or or or or or or.......But not writing off anyone on our schedule except maybe Abilene Christian....04-cheers

No one is hating you! Put down the victim card! I'm (and most) just saying you guys aren't going to storm through the belt with 45-7 scores across the board like some of you guys are insinuating.

You, and a few other cajun fans play the "hate" card because you like being over dramatic. You enjoy the hate, but I'm sorry buddy, it's just not there. No one hates you.

Yes and yes.

Thats the only reason I'm hesitant to think that USA can't challenge for the top of the league this year. That and our @ULL and @Ark State schedule.

Your team lucked out on a last second "Hail Mary" miracle last year. Won't be a repeat in Mobile this year.

Better to be lucky than good. However SoBama has yet to prove to be either of those. A 30 yard fade to the corner of the endzone is hardly a Hail Mary.

I did read your message board last season after your disappointing loss in Troy. You guys are laughable with your SoBama was the better team but...........spill last year.

The Jags will take of business when you guys come to the city. Going to be a fun day. You enjoy calling us SoBama, but we can also play that childish little game.

So is short for South. Bama is short for Alabama. It's who you are. If you don't like your name you can petition to have it changed to the University of Alabama's Mobile campus.

We are the University of South Alabama, USA, South Alabama or simply "South", but you already know that. Calling is SoBama is an insult. Like referring to Troy as Troy State. Get it?

Most of us don't mind being called Troy State. We have a rich history and take pride in it. It doesn't hurt our brand (or our feelings) when we aren't called TROY (all caps is how its supposed to be written out) on the sunbeltbbs.com message board.

Call us whatever you like. I don't particularly care for SoBama, but if that's what you want to call us, fine.

Calling us the University of Alabama Mobile campus is just incorrect. USA, unlike UAB, have a fully independent board and have no tie to the University of Alabama system other than that we are funded by the same state. Using that would make many wonder if UAT had an extension campus in Mobile and if you were refering to that.

I agree. Wish everyone well in all games except one. I also agree about Louisiana. I think they'll be good. Hudspeth doesn't put out bad teams. I just don't think they're going to the godsend most of their fans are expecting.

Lol! Never seen so much wishful thinking in my life! Good luck!

Bro, you know your programs are winning when you are hated so much! LOL! No matter what they say about Cajun fans, it all starts with winning. Football, Baseball, Basketball, Softball, Tennis!

Because I think your team may be over rated, I hate you? Actually I enjoy the Cajuns and have for years as my second team. I just think your team will not live up to the hype and will be surprised if they do. Unlike many here, neither do I think your coach is the super coach that some do. He has faded in the bigger games on too many occasions. But that said, if your team is as good as you guys think, then I wish you every success in that major bowl that we all want.

Somewhat. I don't expect either to be a real problem. South will be fine. Troy brings back 8 of 10 o-line and a monster transfer from ole miss, all of our running backs, most of our wide receivers, with the addition of two very talented JUCO receivers and our OC. This offensive unit could not have been in better shape when adding a new QB into the mix.

I think where we differ is in QB talent on paper. Bridge sounds like the real deal, but on paper we have three guys who's credentials far exceed that of Brandon Bridge.

Bridge was the SWAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman at Alcorn State, passing for 2,086 yards and 19 touchdowns and rushing for 601 yards and eight more TDs. I'll put that up against any JUCO accolades.

USA returns 9 of 10 on the offensive line depth chart (one first team all-SBC, one second team), plus the return of their top offensive lineman who missed last year with a knee injury and add a JUCO OT signee that should push his into the rotation. They also return all-conference honorable mention Jay Jones at running back, 1st team all-SBC TE Wes Saxton, 2nd team all-SBC receiver Shavarez Smith, all time leading receiver Jereme Jones, deep threat Danny Woodson, Jr and will welcome the addition of Alabama transfer wide receivers Marvin Shinn and Josh Magee, both of whom were very impressive in practice while redshirting.
This offense is set up to roll if Bridge can do his part, which all indications are that he can.
