he's probably known this kid since he was in jr. high since he's from indy.

if he gets the acc/sec table scraps out of atlanta and then brings in top players that don't make it at higher level schools he'll amass talent the rest of the sunbelt will have a hard time competing against.

but.....nobody will just give them the crown. cajuns won't just crown 'em. red woofs won't just crown 'em. as they found out this year, they have to win the tourney to go to the ncaa. not always as easy as it is to win regular season games.

but hunter's gotta be turning heads in some bcs conference schools. i figure he'll at least stay until jr. leaves which could be as early as next year. someone will throw money at him.
Stop calling our coach a huckster.

Jokingly using the term huckster is pretty benign compared to the tone and language of a great many of your posts. As one of the most aggresive posters on this board you have very little standing to be complaining about the terminology used by other posters.
Really? I have resorted to name calling when exactly? 07-coffee3

and this surprises you? lol

Not surprised at all. The irony just caught my attention04-cheers

Not liking the posts and my calling someone outside their name are too different things. But please go ahead and inform me as to how Ron Hunter is a huckster...this should be fun.

Several of us knew ya'll had a decent team though. Can't say many people saw the run you had, but it wasn't all that surprising either.

Football? Not so much.

The several is like 3 posters on the UALR board. LOL.

from merriam webster
1. huck·ster noun \ˈhək-stər\ : someone who sells or advertises something in an aggressive, dishonest, or annoying way

pretty much him every time he's 15 feet out on the floor. i balk at the dishonest as no coach in america ever thinks a call should go against them. so he's not really dishonest if he 'believes' every call should go his way.

your guy is a huckster.....IN MY WORLD. it's not a racist or vulgar name. when i see him 15 feet out on the floor with palms spread working a ref i see mr. haney from green acres trying to huckster poor mr. douglas into buying something that wasn't there.

funny thing.....i didn't see him 15 feet out on the floor when he choked his way to a loss by calling the dogs off the cajuns too early. i saw a lot of folded arms and befuddlement.

all of that said.....i have repeatedly said you're in good hands with mr. haney....i mean ron huckster.....i mean ron hunter.

The truth is that your perception of his hucksterism is directly proportional to your inability to beat him.

Yes, I understand that anyone you cant beat is a huckster because you just described 80% of the coaches who have ever coached in the NBA. You would have been ordering cases of cheese for all of that whine if WKU had ever played in the CAA or A-10.

you're worse than a murray state fan. pretty sure we beat the huckster when he was at ooey-pooey and had george hill. you may have heard of him.

hunter was a huckster then. but we had courtney lee who trumped george hill. nobody including me has said hunter's a bad coach. to the contrary i've said you're in good hands.

he's still a huckster. that's not me whining. that's me dropping knowledge. you may just have a limited vocabulary and wanted to read more into huckster than was there.

Huckster definition: "a retailer of small articles, especially a peddler of fruits and vegetables; hawker." Source:Dictionary.com

Ron Hunter being a huckster? Dumbest name/analogy ever. Give it a break man. You're reaching.

which is it? you said i call him a huckster because we can't beat 'him'. i show you we have beat the huckster before and now you change it to he's a huckster because we lost to gsu. which one is your argument?

be happy you have a guy that i've repeatedly said will do good things for you. some day he might even get you into the ncaa tourney. some day he might win an nit game instead of getting skulldrug by a .500 acc team.

be happy and not so butthurt. i compliment him 5 different ways but because he reminds me of a huckster you get butthurt in the first degree.

The talent he had at IUPUI doesn't compare to the talent at GSU. Hunter stated in his first year at GSU that this was the best team he has ever had.

your boy panama who went into hysterics over me calling ron huckster a huckster stated we couldn't beat the huckster and that's why i called him a huckster. i just pointed out that we had beaten the huckster before when he had george hill. you might want to wikipedia george.....he's played a little ball. i thought the ooey-pooey coach was a huckster back then.

nothing's changed. i still think he'll have fabulous teams in atlanta. i'm not so sure he'll tell everyone he had the team practice cutting down nets. if he continues doing that i may make up a word and call him the hubrister on top of huckster. he's a smart guy so i'd bet he learned not to take the air out of the ball with 5 minutes left.

be happy and not so butthurt. don't try to police the entire world. i'm just one guy. i have my opinion on the huckster. you or panama wont change it no matter how many times you jump up and down in a tantrum.

be happy!
