NJ Rutgers Wrote:There is no secret word! Its common sense to know that Nova will NEVER go 1-A!

1. Their stadium is not big enough and they are a small private University without the money or resources or space to expand that stadium. The only other option would be the Linc which Temple currently has the rights to.

2. They suck! They are currently 2-4 (1-2 A-10) That is not gonna boost the Big East rep, we would be better off with 8 at that point.

3. Why would they want to try? They saw how Temple couldnt get it done, so why would they want to try when they are gonna have the same situation? Limited facilities, they will have to use the Linc, limited space, limited money. If by some ridiculous stretch Nova actually did make the jump they would most undoubtedly crash and burn like Temple barring some herculaen effort by a coach sent by God himself, who would most undoubtedly bail for a bigger pay day if he got Nova as far as a bowl game.

Rant over

Sorry but thats just the way it is.
PURE CRAP WITH NO FACTS ON VILLANOVA.YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR FINANCIALS.YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF TEMPLE'S LINC CONTRACT.FURTHERMORE TEMPLE RECORD ON WINNING RECORD IS WORTH NOTHING TO THE BE.

I think there will be no expansion. I do agree adding one on each side can work. Memphis and St. Louis make some sense. Or maybe UCF and UMASS. I think for financial reasons we have the Big East set for quite a while.

Yeah, if they aren't going to split, than i do like the memphis + st. louis expansion plan and than have divisions based on geography, much better than the currnet format. As for adding Umass,Uri, and Temple to the football school's after a split, they would be non-football playing members, thus you got a 9 football school's and 12 hoop school's. Why, they add markets and rivals. The real ?, is why the football school's won't split? They would make more $'s and have more control in a smaller league

Yea I dont have the facts, Im not the Nova president Im going by common sense and what the Nova fans say whenever the idea is brought up. Go ask them and they will tell you everything I just told you.

And how does 2-4 against other 1-AA opponents not qualify as a fact? If Nova went 1-A it would not change the fact that they still have 1-AA talent on their team and they would still get rolled.

Temple rents out Lincoln Financial Field at $15 million for 15 years. It's a matter of public record.

Article was from 2003 + 15 = 2018. I was right. If Temple lasts that long then Nova would have to get permission from Penn to play at Franklin Field. The Eagles didn't want any body in the Linc but them but were forced to take Temple because city and state money was used to fund the stadium and other building improvements. Glad Temple was admitted to bad it was to little to late. 07-coffee3

Geographically This Could Work Out
Airport KC Wrote:The move to make IMHO, is to add 1 football school and 1 BB only school.

Add Memphis and St.Louis.

Football Division
Syracuse
Rutgers
Connecticut
South Florida
Memphis
Louisville
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
West Virginia

Basketball Division
St.Louis
Marquette
DePaul
Notre Dame
St.Johns
Seton Hall
Villanova
Georgetown
Providence
Geographically this could work out for the Big East as well as adding Central Florida and Holy Cross would I suppose ;-). No divisions though. Play each school once in basketball plus a mirror game against your biggest rival for an 18 game schedule.

The money will keep BE the same for some time. The problems start when another BCS conference makes some changes. The Big 12 some unhappy members. How much longer until Vanderbilt and Baylor decide to go the Tulane route and go to CUSA. Those two spots would open up for Arkansas to move to Big 12 and Texas and Texas A&M to slide in to the SEC.

The reality is none of us know what will happen by 2010! All I know is Tom Jurich is a football man that wants the Sears Cup! Mike T. is a basketball man that takes care of basketball! Jurich see a bigger picture than Mike T. does! The will have a collision in the near future.

You never know. Public opinion has sway many a decision. It all depends on how strong and passionate the majority is.

While Louisville certainly has good teams,it hardly is at the level of those teams. Is it a Texas or a Michigan or an Ohio State level?Certainly not.

No.Yes "sowhat" you can certainly tell the difference these schools and Louisville, not only in sports but in higher education.

Put the playstation down, son. You're in WAY over your head here.

I'll believe that Nova will upgrade to Div 1-A and play their games in the Linc when you believe that Angelina Jolie is having dinner with me tonight.

After all, she never said that she wouldn't go out with me, and YOU DON'T KNOW HOW SHE REALLY FEELS.

That's the great thing about the future...NO ONE knows for sure what will happen...(especially in College Sports).
