True, but by then UAB might have an all weather practice field - with stands - available for the spring game. Keep a positive thought.

The new field turf is supposed to be going down soon, as are renovations to the locker room.......guess we'll see.

Last yrs spring game was at West Campus field though they did hold some Sat scrimmages before the spring game at LF. As someone said the weather was just an excuse/easy out due to the injuries. If they had said from the beginning they weren't going to have a spring game they would have looked better publicly. IMO they should have made that call instead of dragging it out to the last minute before making the call official when they were sure they probably weren't going to have it in the first place long before.

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.

I've put a different spin on the cancelled game. I've told co-workers that our new head coach hates losing so much, he couldn't stand someone losing in the spring game.

I took the day off to go after checking the weather Thursday afternoon. The forecast at that time showed the rain was supposed to be south of Birmingham. If they had called it off due to weather and the forecast not changed and it was sunny this whole forum would be in meltdown. Years of disappointment have turn the remaining blazer fans into pissybabies.

Since I don't have to "take a day off" (all my days are days off), I just waited until Friday morning to decide. The AD's office just used the same timing schedule as schools do with snow - they just make the call when they have to make it. Considering the field to be used, the injury potential to be considered and the likely attendance in bad weather, I think they made a good call.

With so much new talent coming in this summer, the best the staff could have hoped for was no new surgical cases going into the summer. For many positions, it remains wait to see which new guys will be able to break into the playing rotation so this summer is a critical decision time for the Clark staff.

Yeah, I don't think the coaches are too sad about cancelling the spring game. 7 olinemen, and like 2 healthy RBs. While it is disappointing that we didn't get to see Cody and Briscoe, I think it is alright. I would've liked to see Parrish and Mondie too, but they would've been going against exhausted Olinemen.

On Carson Miller, none of the players liked the kid. Supposedly gave absolutely no effort at practice. He graded out a 0 in a scrimmage, that's correct, a 0. Also heard he was a Mississippi State fanboy. Had a banner hanging up in his dorm room and would not take it down after being asked to. Also have seen things on instagram about him going to MSU baseball games and captioning that he "will always be a dawg at heart". If all is true, good riddance that he is gone.
