For Virginia Tech:

1. Miami

2. N.C. State

3. Pittsburgh

Don't you think maybe UVA should be one of the 3?

The questions was "who do you WANT for your three permanent rivals" thus my response of Miami, NCSU, and Pitt.

Now if the question were "who do you think you'll GET" as VT's three permanent rivals then of course UVa would be one of the three, along with (probably) Wake and Miami.

For me at least, Virginia Tech/Virginia has ceased to be a rivalry in football. Tech has now won TEN straight games against the "Hoos (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009,2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) and 14 of the last 15 . That's no longer a rivalry, that's complete domination.

The last time Tech totally dominated the series (8-1 between 1958 and 1966) UVa called a halt to the "rivalry" by not playing us in 1967, 1968, and 1969. I'm not much interested in the game anymore, and it wouldn't bother me in the least if we stopped playing them on an annual basis. Perhaps in the future my feelings might change IF UVa can get its football program back on track.
