I hope NIU threatens to move if attendance doesn't improve. I'd get a lot of laughs out of that.

If Jeffrey Loria bought NIU.....

Totally forgot about that.

Lets just move all our sports teams to Rosemont so we surround the B1G office just off of 90 and Balmoral.

We can wait for the Cubs to build in Rosemont and then we can share their facilities!

I think in the next 10 years there will be a new 70,000 seat stadium somewhere west of 294. It will be a dome, Bears will move in, (my fear being a current PSL holder) instantly it gets a Super Bowl, an NCAA regional every few, a Final 4 every 6-8, what at that time will be a game in the NCAA Football Tourney and the SOIL (State of ILlinois) Football Classic pitting NIU vs a B10 team once a year.

I would have no problem with that.

Even better if it was in Naperville/Aurora.

I'm not too sure the Bears would want to move to a larger stadium. They purposely kept Soldier Field with a smaller capacity when they remodeled it, so they can keep a high demand on tickets and sell them at a higher price.

They will look for a way out. in 15 years it will be 25 years since the rennovations. They will get the re-up/new $ from PSL and finding 8-9k new season ticket holders won't be a problem since they will be indoors(or retractable). Don't forget, they only pay rent and get no parking or concessions.Another reason why their tix are higher, smaller venue. Keeps the market stable. I can only imagine what the share is of a Final Four, SuperBowl, Westlemania for Stadium owners. I heard parking in Arlington is like $80. JJ makes a million dollars a game in parking.

I mean I can't read into the future (well, not most of the time03-shhhh) but would not surprise me if they do something with a few years of Virginia passes, be it them or future owners.

I've often thought that had NIU been built in the Naperville- Aurora area it would be awesome. I believe you could have a university hospital and would have 35k students. I also think then you could get a Big12 invite and a 45k stadium.

I thought it was a great idea..

Kinda origlnal, outside the box thinking and worthy of prelim exploration.
\
Land in Naperville expensive and likely limited.
Traffic and infrastructure issues abound...

some other locations nearby may be Aurora , N Aurora off Eola, Winfield, Warrenville, etc.

Remember when Bears were exploring a new stadium to be constructed in west burbs...

What if some distant , future-istic galaxy year both NIU and Bears shared use of same suburban INDOOR facility able to host a SUPER BOWL ?

Crazier visions have been turned into realities --- 01-wingedeagle Change is the only constant.
----

Remember USC and LA Rams

Many more college students in decades ahead may fore go on campus schooling for virtual online degrees...

U Miami and Dolphins in OLD Orange Bowl

University of Conneticut tried something similar
UCONN built their football statium near Hartford Conneticut. Students had to take a bus to the game. It has been a disaster. The students don't go and peope from Hartford don't go. When a television camera shows the crowd it is mostly emty seats. At the original studium on campus students could walk to the game.
