We should have beaten them two years ago but Butch & Munchie threw it away.

This is this year and I expect a win. We have to defend our house especially against another team from Ohio (regardless of the conference). You come in our hood, you'll get punched in the mouth. You come in walking tall, you'll leave crawling low. You come in talking loud trash, you'll leave whispering apologies. We'll play anybody, anywhere, anytime. This is the mentality we have to have right now. Just win baby! Got my tickets last week in the mail and I'll be coming with my family to root our Cats on to victory! Can't wait man. Hope we get a good turnout of UC fans at PBS.

That was truly a painful game to watch. As I recall, UC played rather poorly but squandered several opportunities to walk away with a victory in spite of themselves. Not one of Butch's finer moments here.

I expect Toledo to be really good in that game. I also expect a UC victory. A loss would not bode well given the early schedule.

If you remember Toledo did not score one offensive TD in that game. All of their TDs came on special teams and pick sixes. It was also our first game without Walter Stewart. Despite all that, we could have gone up had Munchie not thrown another pick to end the game.

It will be a stern challenge this year. I think this Toledo team is better than the 2012 version. However, I think our 2014 team is more talented and better coached than our 2012 team.

Yeah, I made the drive to that game. It physically hurt to watch it. From the pop up kicks to the pick sixes, it was infuriating.

I will always remember Butch switching place kickers mid game, then the kickoff went to their stud return man, 6 points, well done coach.

Yeah, O'Donnell usually kicked off. 9/10 times Pat would send it out of the end zone. IIRC, Butch pulled him for Tony Miliano to teach him a lesson because his last kick only went five yards deep in the end zone. Tony put up a low line drive and their guy took it to the house. It was the first KO return against UC in ages.

Before the kick everyone in the Bearcats section is asking, "Why is Miliano kicking off? Toledo has an awesome returner with 2 TDs this year." Boom. TD. It's always great when the freaking fans know more than the coach.

Ely just put together a nice 2 minute drill with the 5 wide set. Seems to be his strength, he makes 2 - 3 quick reads and gets rid of it.

Toledo wins 54 to 20. Ely is 25 for 36 with no picks. Toledo ends up with 600 plus yards 300 in the air and 300 on the ground. Count me as very worried. This is a very good veteran team. The only inexperience was qb and his numbers were good.
