I'm wondering how many of you watched the NIT championship game last night from MSG between SMU and Minnesota. Rick Pitino was sitting in the seond row seats near the Minnesota bench (Richard Pitino, UM coach LOL ) acting like he was the coach... yelling plays, waving players around to different positions hahahaha This has to be one of the strangest deals I have seen in a while. By his body language the things that were coming out of his mouth, I think he actually thought he was coaching the team. Kudos to ESPN for picking up on it!!!! This was hilarious!

RE: (P)rick Pitino
I have respect for Rick Pitino, especially after seeing the interview after he lost in the Tournament. He was a gracious loser and gave his opponent credit and respect. Too often after a loss, coaches blame their team for not playing their best, like on another day they would have won. Pitino did not do that.

If my son were the coach of a final NIT team, I would be involved also. For Pete's sake, it is his son.

hey, couldn't agree more! But I don't think anyone has ever seen the likes of what transpired last night. Pitino for the most part was giving orders and directions directly to the players, not his son... and apparently they were listening!

RE: (P)rick Pitino
The elder Pitino also knows SMU and their tendencies better than his son. SMU and UL were in the same conference this year and they played 2x. That might be why he was "helping."

LOL He was more than "helping"... he took control of the entire team.
