Basketball magazines
I've bought three basketball magazines and will likely buy another 4 or 5 before the season starts. They are all giving the Big East props. Pitt is usually in the top five and Georgetown in the top ten with another three teams from our conference usually sprinkled in the next fifteen slots....but by large every magazine I've read is wallowing in a SEC lovefest. It's enough to make you toss your cookies. Sometimes I wonder if I'm seeing SEC or ACC. Jeeeeeeze

C-USA was the seventh conference in the poll, but the forum would only take the first six options...so if you honestly believe C-USA will have the best basketball in the land this season, write in your vote.

I think that the SEC will be the fashionable pick this year with FL holding the crown until next April. They play some awesome basketball down there. Too early to tell really.

Tennessee will have another good team too. The rest of the conference I don't know about yet.

These things are cyclical in nature. With Florida winning the NC last year and getting everyone back, with LSU making it to the Final Four and also having the likes of Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee it is not surprising that the SEC is getting major props this year.
Going into the season, I would also rank them tentatively as the best conference (at least in terms of top teams). I think they are weaker from top to bottom than the Big East, but the Big East top teams this year are Pittsburgh and Georgetown and when was the last time either of them were in the Final Four?
Cheers,
Neil
