WVU would yield better football, but Cincinnati adds the huge Ohio TV market and puts the ACC in Big 10 country, both schools have their own merits. it would come down to which school would make the most money for the ACC.

The ACC putting itself in Big 10 country could be dangerous, though. Swofford and Delany hate each other and these conferences are competing for eyeballs (which impacts dollars). If the ACC ends up in Ohio I think that the Big 10 will then end up in Virginia and North Carolina after the ACC's GOR expire in 10 years.

Don't mess with Delany. That cat means business.

1) Delany has already declared all-out war on the ACC, IMO. The ACC can't be afraid to invade enemy territory when the enemy has already carved out a big chunk of its territory!

2) Honestly I'm not concerned about the Big Ten getting into VA or NC, as long as the ACC holds on to Va Tech and UNC. In today's football-first sports reality, most of the other teams are a break-even proposition at best. UNC is the most valuable by far, and I don't think they are going anywhere. VT is the most valuable in terms of football.

Agree, the old ACC teams of great value are:

Virginia Tech
North Carolina
Clemson
FSU
Miami

The new program add value as well:

Notre Dame
Syracuse
Pitt
Louisville

It isn't hard to diagnose the make up of a team that would be a B1G target.

1) Be in deep financial trouble
2) Be AAU
3) Be in a major media market
4) Have an AD from the midwest with no ACC history

Having listed that ... I just realized GT qualifies for all four. The GTAA has $260m in debt with about $290m in total assets (FY2012). They are AAU. They are in Atlanta. Their brand new AD came from Xavier and has never been AD at a major football program much less a BCS program.

AD's don't make the decision regarding a conference move. That's made by the President of the System, as was the case at UM, or the President/Chancellor of the University.

Unlike Kirwan and Loh who were B10 men, the GT President is a Kansas State/Texas A&M man with stops at Rennseler and Colorado.

Nope. Just an observation. There are enough *** **** Ohioans around here as it is. But then, it wasn't about what the fans wanted in College Park either.
