The real shot doctor
I've mentioned this before but with Kyle Anderson still in the NCAA and it being the off season figured I'd revisit it. Kent Culuko runs a shooting academy in NJ and trains players like Anderson. Based on his past with the JMU program (recent HOF inductee) and pedigree as a shooter and the poor shooting for a talented group of NJ guys like Curry and Cooke it would be nice to see some type of connection in the off season.

Please don't hesitate to shoot MB an e-mail when you think of something that could hold value. He has always responded to me.

Agree, it seems like something could be worked out that could benefit our brick-layers.

Yeah I agree- I've emaled him before and he's always responded. There was a time where Culuko wasn't connected to the program but having made the HOF I think things are ok now.

I think that was when he was helping Jason Williams cover up homicides. But maybe I dreamed that. 03-zzz

But that kid could shoot the three. Convo would go wild. 04-bow

Yeah it was definitely in JMU's best interest at the time to distance themselves from that whole scene.

Kent was very good and a pretty highly touted recruit for Lefty, but Darren McClinton was also the man and perhaps better at the 3. Darren hit alot of exciting downtown 3s.

Yes, but Kent made THE shot.

That moment for me is one of my top JMU sports memories, possibly above the 2004 FCS title and VT win. It is hard to put into words the emotion that day, and just how amazing it was to experience. Perfection.

Anderson will be on display in about 5 minutes as UCLA takes on Florida. Must watch T.V.

Declared for the NBA Draft. He didn't play a great game against Florida but I like his game- plays within himself. Its a shame he didn't stay one more year- with some additional explosion he could have dominated next year and probably been a top 3 pick instead of a late lottery pick.

Wish the NBA would adopt the model of the MLB.
- Eligible after HS
- Eligible after 2 years of college at a 2 year school (juco)
- Eligible after 3 years of college at a 4 year school

The one and done deal does nothing for either college basketball nor players that don't want to be there. If they don't want to go to college don't make them. Quit trying to protect them from making a really bad decision. The NBA does not have a minor league system like MLB. The NBA is not a development league with large rosters -- you have about one year to prove you can play or not then another crop is gonna get there chance. The Kobe's, Lebron's, Moses Malone, Kevin Garnett are a few of the rare exceptions that can come to the NBA right away and hold their own. It is very rare that a 17-18 year old can come into the NBA out of HS and compete with grown men.
