It is stinking though and maybe not sinking, but definitely not going anywhere (like up).

RE: UMass departing from the MAC
Sinking because..

We basically got told by UMASS our conference wasn't worth it....right after Temple said the same thing..These 2 schools are pretty high profile(maybe not in sports(football) but more so than Akron or a directional state school).

You add that to the fact that the power conferences are about to gain a whole lot more power http://www.sbnation.com/college-football...aa-council

And I think the MAC is the weakest of rest (American, Conf Usa, MWC, and Sun Belt(maybe tied with Sun Belt))

RE: UMass departing from the MAC
Have many here ever considered how much and how often the entire landscape of college athletics has changed in recent years...

Change IS the only constant....just look at the additions coming to BT...and the mad scramble to fill the voids left in the conferences MD and Rutgers vacated...

Few confererences are immune from massive shake ups...from the WAC and Mounatin conferences out west to the Big LEast and ACC.

Marshall, Central Florida, Temple, UMass used MAC like tissue paper...who is next to join MAC: Western Kentucky?

This evolution reminds me of Wal Mart pushing out the small townie shop keepers.

HELL ! Maybe China will sponsor/fund/field a midwest school in the MAC.

Ironically Eastern Kentucky is looking to join either Sun Belt or MAC...they are coming from FCS to FBS
