RE: Umass leaving the Mac
You guys post crap about stuff you want to see, with out looking.
Go back to page 25 and look at a little fun while posting we have a home and home with FIU on campus.

The first guy did not even see the the winks, say just having a little fun.
He did not see the schedule.

The next guy went on about playing at a 69k stadium, Gillette.
He did not see at McGurik.

You guys post about stuff you want to see or more accurately the stuff stuck in your head.

I can do nothing about the stuff in your head.

So Cheers!

Thanks Zach, and I feel the same way about UMass... You guys made the decision which was best for your athletics... I don't really have any hard feelings about it, I just think *if* there are more teams than Bowl slots UMass goes last because they are not long term in the conference.

Could you guys be a 6 win team in 2015? sure, maybe... But saying I doubt it is not a slam on UMass it's the experience of watching Buffalo struggle when they moved up.

Oh, don't send people back to page 25, since then they'll see ...

Like the MAC and appreciate Temple and the MAC.
Hate being a lame duck and part of me want to prove the MAC wrong for the ultimatum before the first game is played on campus.

The 25 per year rule does hurt teams moving up since it takes at least 4 years to get up to the Max 85 scholarships.

2015 is the year we should be close to full scholarship and while like the MAC, hate being a lame duck.

Would much rather be in the Sun Belt, however my gut tells me we'll see how the next 6 months play out.

Really hate the ultimatum, but realistically no one expected us to drop the 1 million from the A10.
UMass 1 (75% = $191,534.25) + $469,714.95 = $661,249.20

Plus 1/14th of 5 million = $357,142.85

A10 NCAA payouts

The 25-per-year rule doesn't apply towards transfers, and teams can take FBS transfers without any loss of eligibility during their first year of the FBS transition. It sort of evens out.

RE: Umass leaving the Mac
UMass had the 17th Largest Average Attendance Increase From Previous Year in the entire FBS.

http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_r...e/2013.pdf

We had an average attendance increase of 4,929.

2013 Average Attendance - 15,830
2012 Average Attendance - 10,901

The reason you don't see us on the list on Page 3 of that document is because technically in 2012 we were still a "transition" team and weren't a full FBS member. 2013 was technically our first full year as an FBS team.

For 2014 I'm hoping our average attendance is around 20,166.

That would give us another increase of around 4,336. Which would probably put us around the same spot on that list as this year.

We play Boston College and Colorado at Gillette Stadium the first two weeks of the season. So as long as it doesn't rain we should have some really nice crowds for those games.

If your hoping for 20k in 2014 then UMass better be planning stadium upgrades for at least 25 to 30k in the future if it really wants into the AAC in the long run. Don't forget indoor plumbing too. I see others having a problem with your potapotty thing. Don't know why though you should get more indoor facilities. I go to games at Rutgers and South Carolina and both have portapotties in their stadiums with the indoor facilities to boot and they are handling 50k and 90k crowds for home games. 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop
