He got in young and to a good school... and he can flat coach up his kids. Full credit. Second all time in the SEC is pretty damn good, especially as young as he is.

Adolf Rupp coached at the only SEC school at the time that cared about & valued basketball. It was an annual given that all other SEC teams were playing for second place. I don't know the whole list of SEC BB coaches of that period, but I do know that when I went to Bama in 1960, the BB coach was Hayden Riley, an assistant FB coach who "liked" BB. C.M. Newton was later brought in as an actual BB coach from Transylvania State.
