Another mercy rule in the making?
UAB softball team is beating FIU 8-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning. So far, there have been homers by Kristen McGrath, Megan McGrath, and Heather Pearson.

Softball team won the first game 10-0 in 4 1/2 innings, as a result of the mercy rule.

Currently leading FIU 1-0 in the 4th inning in the second game. The one run was a solo HR by Kristen McGrath.

Softball team adds 4 more runs in the bottom of the 6th, now leading 5-0. Heading to the top of the 7th and final inning.

Blazers clinch the series with a 5-2 win. UAB has won 9 of the last 10 games to improve to 17-13 on the season, 5-3 in conference play.

After totaling just four home runs through the first 13 games, UAB now has 30, which is tied for 31st in NCAA.
