Jack Dechow defeated #7 seed Kevin Steinhaus of Minnesota 8-4 this morning. Steinhaus is a three time All-American. This afternoon Dechow will face #3 seed Gabriel Dean of Cornell for third place.

Saw him on TV in the semi-finals last night. He lost to the number 1 seed 3-2, but he had a great tourney. And he is only a RS Freshman. Congrats Jack.

What a future for this dedicated young man. He will raise the bar even higher for an ODU program that is moving up.

With what I have seen and read about a few of the new recruits coming in next year it sounds like the future is bright for the Monarch wrestlers. With the continued success we can all share and boast with pride in our Universities accomplishments. It appears we are elevating wrestling to a higher level of visibility on the national stag each year.

Good Luck to Jack, he has been outstanding!

Dechow lost a tough 5-4 decision to #3 seed Gabriel Dean of Cornell. Jack Dechow finished 4th. in the 2014 NCAA's and will be on the podium as an All-American. Mr. Dechow is only a redshirt freshman and I am sure he, as well as the entire ODU Wrestling program has just startef making noise at the National level.

Congratulations ODU Wrestling!
