On offense...yes. But his defense and rebounding has kept the team winning.

JL is still thinking too much on the offensive end. When he finally understands his role in the offense, and he can just let his talent takeover, he will be fine.

Fair assessment. 04-bow

Yeah I think Rag has this one squared away.

And to add to that - big guys are very rarely where you want them to be as frosh. And it is important to remember he just tuned 18 a little while ago.

UCONN played great. If we turn the ball over we will lose. We will probably lose anyways.

UConn playing their typical good ball in March. We haven't played a full game well over the last couple weeks. I imagine UConn will beat us pretty handily.

Just last Thursday we played one of our best games of the year. UConn will beat us handily? We turned it over 20 times and shot 27% AT UConn and it was a one-possession game with 3 minutes left. Also, did you forget that UConn lost by 33 less than a week ago?

RE: UCF Game Thread
What's so "wow" Mark? UConn is 8-2 over their last 10. Sure the Cards blew them out, but the Cards have been doing that to everyone (except us). UC has looked uninterested over the last 3 weeks. We are coming off of back to back squeakers against UCF and Rutgers. Take away senior night and I haven't seen inspired ball from this club in a while. That's my opinion and I think a well reasoned one. I could be totally wrong, but my conclusion is hardly preposterous.

And when I say "handily" I don't mean a 20 point win, but I expect the Huskies to be in control for the majority.

Here's hoping SK drops 30 on them en route to a convincing win.

So you count 10 back for UConn and only 2 back for us? lol
I think as long as we don't replicate the performance we had at their place, we'll be fine.
With the defense, we'll always have a puncher's chance. I expect to see a lot of zone.

It'd be nice to win convincingly, this team is a grind it out kind of team though. None the less, he sounds like a condescending douche. Reminds me of their prior coach.

I guess my problem with that, is that the Rutgers and Memphis games are not far enough apart for me to acknowledge one and not the other. Not to mention, we didn't lose to Louisville because we were disinterested, we lost on a last second shot. That happens to everybody. As for the UConn game, bad shooting and the inability to handle the box and 1 isn't about being uninterested so much as schemes. I just don't see it as remarkable to blow out Memphis. Sorry. Not saying we can't lose, just that I'm not that hung up on today and Rutgers(which was the one where I felt they mailed it in).

Wasn't the best thing for Napier to say, but I can't say I disagree with his statement.

RE: UCF Game Thread
If Kilpatrick was a selfish player I might agree, but there's nothing wrong with personal accolades when you are playing unselfish, your team has been very successful, and you worked your ass off to get where you are. Everyone likes to be recognized for their hard work, including Napier, even if he says otherwise. Him playing the team card here is a little selfish in a way, he likes that everyone is talking about how unselfish he is.

If you bust your butt at your job and your boss recognizes you in front of everyone don't pretend you wouldn't like it. Don't pretend that you would stand up and say I owe it all to my co-workers and truly mean it.

Can't agree with this. Regardless of how many buckets Memphis racked up by extending the game the last 5 minutes we played great while that was a game. One of our top 3 performances of the whole year IMO.

There are players that speak about being unselfish and players that play unselfish. These 2 players fall into separate groups and that's fine with me. I think our best chance in this game is Napier having another game where he fires up 18 fgs.

I must have missed it, but what exactly did SK say about not getting POY? Napier's tweet makes it sound like SK was whiney about it.

I wouldn't call it a snub. You can make a great case for either SK, Napier or Smith.

As for the game, I like our chances. As I said before, we played like crap vs. them before, and played like crap last night. This is an ideal scenario for redemption.

Great insight Billy. I was incredibly impressed with how UConn played last Saturday at Louisville. Their close win at home against Rutgers, close win at South Florida and loss at home to SMU (SMUs only good win away from home this year) were also incredibly impressive performances.

RE: UCF Game Thread
Outside of blowing out Memphis both UConn and Cincinnati haven't looked great. I think it says more about Memphis and their of lack coaching, effort, and basketball smarts. Both Cincinnati and UConn played poorly in the last UConn-Cincinnati game. Heck UConn lost to SMU at home, struggled with Rutgers and USF, while getting blown out at Louisville.

Winning basketball games this time of year isn't easy. The bottom part of a league has nothing to lose, sometimes they are playing for the coach's job. The bottom line is winning not how you win. (Unless you are Louisville who blows out everybody but can't beat Memphis.)

Cincinnati-UConn is becoming a nice little rivalry.
