He and Glenn Bryant won this game for us. So clutch.

Wow. I'm pretty sure I wore out my scorecenter app on my phone following this one.... But it was so worth it.

Nobody said it would be pretty, and in the end none of us care one bit.

I LOVE sending NIU home with a loss anytime we meet on the hardwood. And it's pretty amazing watching the kind of "rivalry" these teams have developed on the court.

When EMU makes FT's, EMU wins. Good solid win. It's not easy to come from double digits behind against a team that plays as solid of defense as NIU does. This team showed a lot of heart tonight. Let's keep it going! 20 wins!

Maybe it was a tourney game. Maybe I used to UGLY (! x 10) EMU / NIU games, but this game didn't seem really ugly to me.

The game in DeKalb. Now that was ugly!!!

There were a lot of good plays.

Now NIU was colder than the weather in the 2nd half of the 2nd half. That was ugly, for them, but not us... 02-13-banana

I mean both teams shot 30% from the floor... And we won't even talk about the 3pt %. I think it's safe to say this one was ugly.

Sidenote: that NIU team will be a force the next couple years. They have an extremely young and talented bunch there.

Great win! Bryant and I thought especially Sims' defense were the difference in the 2nd half. Riley and Lee should be well rested for tomorrow.

Threloff will be seeing Glenn's block in his nightmares. I had my entire apartment shaking after he swatted that layup.

Congrats on the win guys! 04-bow

NIU took a step forward this year with a young team but they're not quite there yet. Combination of EMU's really good defense and NIU's lackluster offense, they just couldn't overcome it. At the risk of sounding like a Cubs fan, hopefully next year they'll take the next step.

I'm not our resident recruitster (the guy 'Hoopster' is), but you have Highsmigh coming back and your recruiting, I believe, is getting much better, NIU, indeed, has a good future. (I know Montgomery is a recruiter. I believe you have the HC from Saginaw. Etc.).

NIU during the 2nd half of the MAC season, got a lot of results from their talent.

What I like about our team is our depth.

Lee seemed out of control (as he sometimes is) and Murphy just got another guard.

Talley was getting shots blocked so Murphy got another guard.

Riley got into foul trouble in less time than Super can brew a cup of coffee, and Murphy got another center.

BTW, Murphy got Hughley as a summer add as a graduate transfer. Turns out to be a good addition. He has been a valuable role player.

Combs drives me crazy -- his selfish 3s are troublesome.

I'd like to see us use our depth and give him a quicker hook when necessary.

Threloff was huge for EMU the last couple minutes.

Agreed. Missing the front end of that 1-1 was clutch.

Yes a great win! And of course the wonderful bench we have this year melts away and is need of replacements which I hope Murphy and staff are successful in recruiting or the program could take a major step backward next season.

I think EMU79 and Hoopster must share some DNA... Discussing recruiting needs during the middle of a conference tourney. 05-nono

I worried about NIU yesterday. I worry about UB today.

I'll worry about recruiting after the season is over... 03-thumbsup
