Thought this was thread worthy, the coaching silly season has started even before selection Sunday.
Buzz Peterson - Out at UNCW after four years

Travis Williams - Out at TSU after two years. He was a disaster.

Louis Orr - Bowling Green - out after seven years.

Joey James - South Dakota after one interim season. Their head coach retired in September out of the blue.

Jason James - UT Martin. He was awful and truly overstayed his welcome.

Jason Capel - Appalachian State. Not surprising at all, five years, losing record.

Lot of jobs early on opening up, post em when ya see them. Maybe someone who's had a bunch of 20 win years might get the idea to move on.

The Appalachian problem with basketball is a mystery to me. Their arena is awesome, great school, football is a winner....but basketball is a clunker. I don't get it.

Looks as if their interim coach will keep the job. Former head coach at Memphis. Could this be good news for Coach Wagers?

Auburn, App State, UT Martin, TSU . . . These are all just a few hours from Chattanooga. Think John Shulman will give up his trucking company sales gig and get back to coaching?

Johnny was named head basketball coach at The McCallie School, a private boys school in Chattanooga a few days ago.

Good for him. That is a perfect job for him.

Rodney English has taken a boys' high school job in the Chattanooga area as well.

Get ready for an incoming rant from Lover about how English is the reason the Lady Bucs suck even though he hasn't coached here for years, is really behind global warming and once put Lover's hand in a bowl of warm water at summer camp( okay I made that last one up).

Nah, best of luck to him. Three years at a school in north Georgia with not a ton of success, now he's taking over a 6-21 program.
No reason to rant, he went from coaching Division I basketball to high school ball, he's suffered enough.
And BTW, on the Barbee firing at Auburn. That was cold blooded. He got off the podium and into the locker room and Jay Jacobs fired him right then.

That's great news for both of those guys. Now they can feed recruits to their alma mater right out of UTC's backyard!

The Rice coach resigned, too. Awful lot of jobs out there EARLY this year. I'm wondering if Anthony Grant survives at Alabama. It looks like Frank Martin will get atleast one more year at South Carolina.

That is a tough job. At best, that is the 5th or 6th best job in the A-Sun.
