Playing Halloween night or not having a Wed or Thurs game?

playing Halloween night. A good way to ensure a ton of kids and families aren't there.

OOORRRRR you can make it an event and dont FORCE people to choose one or the other - give em BOTH. kids in costume get in free, trick or treating on tiger lane, recruit student organizations/greeks to create a fun house in the women's building, run a hay ride through the old libertyland trees, pumpkin painting in the tiger lane lawn, have a student costume contest, hold a nice a post game concert.

there are a TON of fun things you could do with this but the AOB MUST get out front, promote the heck out of it WEEKS in adavance and sieze the opportunity to do something unique.

Exactly. My kids trick or treat in the neighborhood...like I did as a kid. However, many folks skip that and attend Halloween parties at churches, schools or country clubs.

There is no reason why the university can't plan trick or treat events at Tiger Lane and inside the Liberty Bowl.

If you do plan it right then this could possibly be a positive. Those folks who usually go to churches, schools or country clubs could go to the Liberty Bowl instead.

I have enjoyed every bit of New Orleans and I still go back when I can.

My Dad once explained New Orleans as the closest thing to going to a foreign city without leaving the US. You can encounter two or three dialects within a couple of square miles.

We had some good times taking the train down to some Memphis-Tulane games back in the day.

Yep. I lived there for 27 yrs. compared to only 19 in my native Memphis, and it's still my favorite US city.

How fun would it be to be a little kid and go trick or treating down Tiger Lane?

RE: Apparently our FB dates will be announced today
New Orleans is the only city in America that can hold a candle to Memphis's soul and heart. I remember sitting in a cafe on Jackson Square some years ago with my son, looking at the dirty street, the crazy panhandlers, the cool old buildings, and thinking, "Wow, I feel right at home here and I just LOVE it!"

If you don't fall in love with New Orleans, you don't like great food, heady drinks, historic architecture, good times and just plain weirdness.

That would be a great trip. We did in USC a while back out there.

Planning on taking a few days to enjoy the trip, golf at Torrey Pines and some favorite restaurants in LaJolla

How about the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach. You'd love it. Be prepared to wait to get in. Even Presidents can't sweat the line.
