RE: 2014 Women's Basketball C-USA All-Conference Team Announced
Both EXCELLENT selections! I hope we have some players really step up next season. Too many times this year the team was content to let "Rizzo" do all the scoring. Chelsee Black will be a junior so the point is in good hands. Brittany Winborne put in a solid game at the 5 in the last game but has been inconsistent most of the year. Miranda Burroughs will be a senior but she is more of a shooter than a point guard. Dy'Man Phillips has had some good moments but needs to put them together to be solid down low. Schenia Battle started to come on late in the season but was shaky much of the year. Same with Janeka Williams. Both could be good 2 guards. I don't see much help from the other players unless they really improve during the off-season.

The team was playing really well and then Kayla Anderson got hurt. From that point on scoring became very difficult. Anderson wasn't a great offensive threat but she could score. Defensively, she led the team and was one of the top shot blockers in CUSA. Her blocked shots often led to fastbreak layups. Her replacements in the post performed well, but the familiarity and comfort level wasn't the same...
Our three signees for next year are PG/Combo guards: http://www.uabsports.com/sports/w-baskbl...13aaa.html
