The Sun Belt would be in better position if...

in football

App State
Arkansas State
Eastern Kentucky
Georgia Southern
Georgia State
Idaho (football only)
Louisiana Lafayette
Louisiana Monroe
Missouri State
New Mexico State
South Alabama
Texas State
Troy

Adding Eastern Kentucky will provide Appalachian State with a desired travel partner. It is a better option the JMU which is working to get into the MAC.

Missouri State has been a top prospect for a long time and finally the timing is right.

Adding NMSU helps them get out of the WAC and along with Missouri State will help the Sun Belt's basketball situation.

If we do plan to have travel partners the following would be the best scenario...

Oly sports (this configuration would allow for travel partners)

App State (270 miles)
Eastern Kentucky

Arkansas State (215 miles)
Missouri State

Arkansas Little Rock (179 miles)
Louisiana Monroe

Georgia Southern (208 miles)
Georgia State

Louisiana Lafayette (381 miles)
Texas State

South Alabama (178 miles)
Troy

New Mexico State (660 miles)
Texas Arlington

Other than UTA/NMSU...the other pairs would work out great.

Take out Eastern Kentucky and add UTA football. I take Dallas-Arlington-Ft. Worth over Richmond Kentucky.

Until we get some solid indications that UTA plans to add football, I wouldn't count UTA football.

RE: MO State fans getting excited for SBC
One of the items that has been discussed for EKU and their football stadium is building a new three-tiered seating area including luxury boxes. The current stands need to be refurbished, but an new stadiums seating compliant with ADA standards is a must. Currently you see assistance coaches getting their workouts in for the day running up and down the stairs and ramps of RKS because there is no press box elevator in the current stadium complex.

Haven't yet heard of a funding source for that in the public domain..

Is a stadium upgrade for EKU in the works? Or is it just being discussed?

Doubt most posters realize how much Missouri State is doing right now.
Shame it will not increase capacity that much.

But its designed for easy expansion for more capacity. We can easily get the stadium up to where Western Kentucky or Ball State is capacity wise quick.

Why do I have the strange urge to Photoshop Karl Benson into that construction?
