Luxury Boxes / Suites
If you have them how much do they cost including any minimum donation to be able to get one?

I cant remember what GaSou's is but I believe there is a long waiting list.

Believe Troys is 25k for a 2 year contract...

All 29 suites at Troy are sold out... HOWEVER I believe the suites for the new endzone complex are currently being sold, believe there will be about 15 new suites in Troys endzone complex.

Last I heard Georgia Southern's is 10k/year with a 10 year commitment (going from memory so I could be a little off). This could be changing, but I'm not sure about that.

The 10K sounds reasonable but wow ten years? Talk about not adjusting for inflation.

But I guess it gets a 100k commitment.

Doesn't it include like 16 season tickets in that price? Comes out to like 625/season ticket if so. Figure that the new club center level or Bishop Club requires a 1,200 donation to have the op. to buy 4 tickets. Bishop would be $725 per season ticket. But food and drinks are all included already. Section 107 would come out to $510 per season ticket. So I guess it is somewhere between the two.

Not sure if it does include the 16 season tickets though - just think I remember someone saying that.

I am not down playing the 100K but it is obvious with a waiting list someone down the list is prob willing to shell out more well within that ten year time frame. I would assume a 100K commitment would include tickets to fill the box, parking along with the pre game perks wrapped in the price. Kinda silly not to include the total package at that level of commitment. It is not on the website so I dont know anything for sure.

Oh, we're in agreement. I'm just thinking that at the time many of them were originally purchased that the University may have been trying to wrap up guaranteed funding on some sort of Bond/loan to build something/facility (maybe even the boxes themselves). So a commitment of 100k per box might have gone a long way towards that "back in the day".

I believe originally at Troy they were $17,000 per year with a 7 year contract.

16 tickets but only 2 parking spots I believe.

I do think the donation requirement for boxes is being raised, and I think we're going to adjust the price of the boxes some. I'm not sure about the details on that though.

It's been long overdue. We need shorter term commitments which would give us more flexibility to adjust prices according to the market.

I have a feeling the waiting list would go down a little bit at that point.

Our seven suites go for $25,000 per year with a three year commitment. Each suite includes 16 seats and an unstated number of parking slots as well as other amenities. The suites are an extension of the Montagne Center basketball arena (right next to the football stadium). There is a club room above the suites that has overlooks of both the football stadium and basketball arena.

A lot of money being lost every year on a structure that was supposed to be "temporary". I got a feeling it will be addressed on the second round of upgrades.

Next round will be extension of on-grade seating on the home side. There's a provision for seating upgrades in the campaign that's ongoing, but it's only around $2.5 million which would only cover that. The press box will not be addressed in the next round, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen in the one after that.

one thing that may force them to renovate the existing seats and press/luxury boxes is the requirements for handicap people. There was some discussion about this on the GSUfans and it seemed like any additions would result in the existing structure to be brought up to today's code. Maybe not, since the new seating wouldn't really change the current seating, but I would like to see them widen the aisles and entraces under the press box. They are way to narrow and it only takes one person to block the whole thing.
But a new press luxury box has got to be high on TK's list. There is just too much money to be made in the long run. It might suck for a year, but the improvements will be well worth it.
I think we see the extension of seats to match the student side within 2 years. The press box in 10years, it'll all be about when contracts run out and how hast they can secure funding. Don't want to over extend ourselves. Once that is done, hopefully we can focus on getting that new arena started about the same time.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a new campaign start soon after the finish of the one we're in the middle of now that would encompass a press box upgrade and a new arena (I think we're going to try to get the city/county involved with the arena too).

I think it would be great if y'all can get the city and county involved.

Excluding high school facilities, there are currently three multi-use arenas in Beaumont. That number could easily have been reduced with a little more cooperation. Elton John is kicking off the U.S. portion of his current tour in Beaumont tonight at the 9,737 seat Ford Arena which was built by the county. The Lamar owned 10,080 seat Montagne Center on Lamar's campus could have served the same purpose.

While the Montagne Center is also used for events other than basketball, it seems like there is probably some under-utilization of each of the arenas. For example, the Montagne has a Zydeco festival coming up this weekend, but it probably could have handled both the Elton John concert and the Zydeco festival easily as well as many scheduled at the Ford Arena. Those two arenas and the smaller 6,500 seat Beaumont Civic Center currently compete with each other for events. Seems like there could have been a little more efficient use of facilities if agencies worked together. The duplication is mainly with the two larger arenas. The smaller Beaumont Civic Center fills a niche that would probably be overkill with the other two. The most questionable one is the Ford Arena which is the newest.

RE: Luxury Boxes / Suites
That is overkill for what isn't that large of a population center (maybe it's bigger than I think). There has been talks over the years to build a new arena/civic center/livestock expo for a long time. I think the county even set aside some land and funds to start the a project, but was later canceled. I believe the 2 closest centers of any size are in Macon and Savannah. Savannah's is a crap hole and needs to be scrapped. I don't know what Macon's has, but it is newer and seems decent.

A new one in Statesboro would be great for the surrounding counties and midway between the to cities. Using it for basketball, concerts, and other events/expos would be great for the local community and businesses during the off-season. A new arena is the biggest item on the athletics's to-do list.

As for box seats. I agree that it will likely happen soon (fundraising would likely start within 3 years). Just too much money to be made to keep the current setup in place. It'll be another round of growing pains and people will complain about being priced out, but if done right would only be a minor inconvenience.
Does any know if their luxury boxes have different pricing tiers? like an entry level, gold, and platinum type system. I suggested this for when GS does rebuild theirs, but was curious if anyone else had something to compare too.
