I wouldn't trust ANYTHING that starts with "Russia has said"
I'd trust that because they've been working together for some time. It isn't that China thinks this is somehow a good thing, but Russia is their teammate, so they are largely okay with it. Anyway, what are we going to do about it. They can stop buying our debt.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if France starts to get a bit wishy washy too if this goes on for too long.
China and Russia aren't friends. In fact, Russia has long been worried that China would try to reclaim some of the land in the far east that Russia took from them a long time ago. It is rich in natural resources that China does not have, but needs.
Chinese citizens just across the border outnumber Russian citizens in that part of the country nearly 20:1. If there is any instability in Western Russia, China may look at that as an opportunity to reclaim what was once their's and strengthen their national security by securing much needed natural resources.
Russia has had plans drawn up for years for such an event because they knew as China's power and influence grew, their quest for land and natural resources would grow as well.
China's economy depends on the U.S. and western nations. We are their biggest customers. Siding with Russia would be a detrimental blow to their economy. In China, money will ultimately win out.
I love living in the west too, but you can't see things with rose colored glasses. China and Russia have differences, but they put those aside when it come to dealing with the US. Our economy and the rest of the western europe's depend on China's cheap manufacturing costs. They make everything we NEED and WANT. They control the natural resources for our valuable electronics, and, they hold our debt, which they could stop buying or just sell and cause us problems. If we really had any leverage on the Chinese economy, we would have used it long ago to stop much of their unfair trade practices. China knows it does a bunch of business with the west and they don't care about Ukraine, which is why they are "mostly" okay with what Russia is doing. But, make no mistake, when it comes to supporting Russia or the US, they are on Russia's side.
Not to mention, China owns well over $1 trillion dollars of U.S. debt, with Russia holding well over $100 billion of their own. We need them to keep financing us. They could inflict far more damage to us than we could to them if they simply stopped buying our debt and dumped what they already have.

The one flaw in this statement pharaoh.. China and Russia have never been "buddies" other than the oil/gasoline supplies.

i never said they were buddies. I said they were teammates. They are strategic partners against the West. That's not a flaw.

No way China would hitch their wagon to Obama’s Loser Express.
Russia has said China is largely “in agreement” over Ukraine, after other world powers condemned Moscow for sending troops into the country.
Hundreds of Russian soldiers have surrounded a military base in Crimea, preventing Ukrainian soldiers from going in or out.
The convoy blockading the site, near the Crimean capital Simferopol, includes at least 17 military vehicles.
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov discussed Ukraine by telephone with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Monday, and claimed they had “broadly coinciding points of view” on the situation there, according to a ministry statement.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said: “China has always upheld the principles of diplomacy and the fundamental norms of international relations.
“At the same time we also take into consideration the history and the current complexities of the Ukrainian issue.” As the tense stand-off continues, the other seven nations of the G8 urged Moscow to hold talks with Kiev.

So for those of you keeping score, China and American conservatives both side with Putin.

Do you watch the news? The American conservatives have been the most vocal in calling for action against Putin. Really, you can't be that dumb, can you?

Read a great line in today's Wall Street Journal, that was referring to the 2008 potential incursion by Russian troops into Georgia:
"In countering Moscow's efforts, our greatest weapon was not attached to a drone. It was delivered via wire transfer."

Name one instance of an American conservative siding with Putin on this.
Actually, on the off chance that you might be able to find one, somewhere, saying something stupid or taken out of context, provide two. You did say "conservatives," plural, denoting more than one.
So put up or admit you're lying.
